Manchester Academy’s late surge trumped St. Aloysius’ last-ditch rally on the opening night of the MAIS baseball season.

Manchester scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning and one more in the seventh, then held on to beat St. Al 8-5 Tuesday night at Bazinsky Field.

St. Al scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh and got the tying run to the plate, but couldn’t complete a miracle comeback.
