John A. Chobanian

John A. “Papa” Chobanian, 92, of Vicksburg, died Thursday, March 20, 2014, at his residence.
He was a loving husband for 40 years. His favorite hobbies were cutting grass and working around the pool.
Mr. Chobanian retired as a computer services manager for Tenneco Oil in Houston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Chobanian and Elizabeth Campbell Chobanian; brothers, James T. Chobanian, Charles N. Chobanian and Michael Chobanian.
Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Preston Chobanain; two sons, Bryan N. Chobanian (Lynn) of Racine, Wisc. and Mark A. Preston (Tina) of Gainsville, Ga.; two daughters, Viki L. Porter (David) and Wendi K. Rush (Paul) both of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren, Tomi L. Davidson (Mark), Shelly Prescott (Raymond) and Joshua Rush, all of Vicksburg, Kara Jo Jackson (Ben) and Gregory Preston, both of Gainsville, Ga.; Alex Chobanian, Taylor Rose Chobanian, Daniel Chobanian all of Racine, Wisc.; eight great-grandchildren, Lance Burton, John Taylor Burton, Katelyn Oneil Burton, Hunter Burton, Drake Davidson, Haylee Prescott, Sarah Prescott all of Vicksburg, and Harrison Jackson of Gainsville, Ga.; one great-great-grandchild, Ryland Burton of Vicksburg. Services will be Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will follow at GreenLawn Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, March 24, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m., and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
Pallbearers will be John Shivers, Robert Shores, Maurice Toller, Robert Burton, Joe Gay, Dane Lovell, Joe Leist, Greg Hoeft.
Honorary pallbearers are Earl Wallace and Jimmy Garner.
