Downtown’s two biggest outdoor markets are seeking vendors as the clock ticks down to sale time.
The Old Court House Museum’s Spring Flea Market and the RiverFest Arts and Crafts Show are seeking vendors for the events both set to begin at 8 a.m. April 26.
About 60 vendors have signed up so far for the flea market that will cover the square around the museum, Old Court Museum curator Bubba Bolm said.
“We have room for more,” he said.
The event, which began in the 1960s, averages more than 100 vendors and about 3,000 visitors each year.
“You can buy anything from wreaths to handmade knives,” Bolm said of the variety of items for sale. “The Old Court House will be selling bulbs and plants too.”

Vendor booths are available for $50, and proceeds benefit the museum, which does not receive federal or state funding, Bolm said. Applications are available at the museum, 1008 Cherry St., or online at www.oldcourthouse.org.
The flea market also features food vendors, and food spaces are available for $60, he said.
The RiverFest Arts and Crafts Show, which started more than 10 years ago, has 65 vendors who had signed up by Thursday, said Angie Wilkinson, chairman for the show.
“We’ve got a lot of new vendors this year, which is great,” Wilkinson said. “There is still some space for the last-minute people. We’re a little bit under what we normally do.”
The show features about 100 booths each year and raises $10,000 annually through booth rentals. Booths are around City Hall on Walnut, Crawford and South Streets.
Spaces are $100 for street vendors and $175 for food vendors. Applications are available online at www.riverfestms.com.
Items for sale include photography, woodwork, soy candles dips and soups from Simply Sassy Super, Wilkinson said.
“It looks like it’s going to be a great year,” Wilkinson said. “We’d definitely like to encourage everybody to come out and do some shopping and enjoy the entertainment we’re going to have downtown as well.”
The main entertainment will be on stage that Friday and Saturday as part of the 27th annual RiverFest.
Headlining entertainment for the downtown music festival will be TK Soul on Friday night and country singer Colt Ford on Saturday.
