CLYDE C. BURCHFIELD JR.

ROLLING FORK Clyde C. Burchfield Jr. died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 71.

Mr. Burchfield was born in Drew, Miss., and reared in Sunflower County. He graduated from Linn High School in 1947, Mississippi Delta Junior College in 1981 and NCA Academy for the Strategic Air Command. He also attended Delta State University.

He retired in 1970 as senior master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. He had lived in Rolling Fork since 1973 and was employed with Southeastern Boll Weevil Association. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Oxner Burchfield of Rolling Fork; a sister, Grace Embry of Vicksburg; a brother, James “Billy” Burchfield of Shaw; and other relatives.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork with the Rev. Charles Hallford, pastor of Rolling Fork United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 Friday night at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bobby McGrew, Walter Watson, Don Embry, Stanley Embry, Andrew Embry, Jimmy Burchfield, Steven Burchfield and David Burchfield.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hayes, Adam Embry and Joe Brooks.

INEZ B. COLLINS

MUSKEGON, Mich. Inez B. Collins, formerly of Vicksburg, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at Hackley Medical Center in Muskegon, Mich. She was 74.

Mrs. Collins was a retired housekeeper, working for a number of years at Occidental Hotel. She served as an usher and deaconess at Bethesa M.B. Church in Muskegon.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd Collins of Muskegon; two brothers, Walter Lewis and Albert Coy Galloway, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Emma L. McKenzie of Vicksburg; nieces; nephews; and other relatives, including Howard Collins and Josephine Collins, both of Muskegon.

Services were at noon Friday at Bethesa Church under the direction of Toombs Funeral Home of Muskegon.

KATIE BELL BINGHAM ELLIS

RED LICK Katie Bell Bingham Ellis died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, in Chicago. She was 67.

Mrs. Ellis, formerly of Vicksburg, was a native of Red Lick.

She is survived by three sisters, Rosie Lee Bingham Gibson of Vicksburg and Louanna Bingham Wells and Laura Bingham, both of Jackson; three brothers, James Bingham of Red Lick, Ed Bingham Jr. of St. Paul, Minn., and Patrick Bingham Sr. of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends, including L.C. Taylor of Chicago.

Services will be at 1 p.m. at East Mount Olive Baptist Church in Red Lick. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Spencer Funeral Home in charge.

ETHEL LOYD

PORT GIBSON Ethel Loyd died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at Claiborne County Hospital. She was 86.

Mrs. Loyd was a native and lifelong resident of Pattison.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Loyd.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean Humphreys of Fayette; a brother, Barron Lee Harlan of Richton; a sister, Lucy Harlan of Jackson; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 Friday night at the funeral home.
