LORMAN Velma B. Watts died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at her home.

She was 59.

Mrs. Watts taught in the Jefferson County School System for 35 years. She was a member and mother of East Mt. Olive Church in Redlick.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Watts Jr. of Lorman; a son, Joseph Watts III of New Orleans; a brother, Lamar Braxton of Natchez; four sisters, Mildred B. Jones of Natchez, Virginia B. Robinson, Juanita B. Jenkins and Willhemenia Braxton, all of Lorman; two aunts, Kate Taylor of Los Angeles and Sadie B. Williams of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at East Mt. Olive Cemetery in Redlick with the Rev. Chester Watts officiating.

Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson has charge of arrangements.

BETTIE MAE WILLIAMS

PORT GIBSON Services for Bettie Mae Williams have been changed to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Douglas Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel.

Ms. Williams died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Claiborne County Hospital.

She was 43.

She worked at Cooper Lighting and was a member of Springhill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl D. Williams.

She is survived by her mother, Eddie Lee Smith of Port Gibson; her grandmother, Ophelia Richardson of Port Gibson; three brothers, Jimmy Williams, Henry Williams and James Williams, all of Port Gibson; three sisters, Mattie Williams, Margaret Payne and Bobbie Gusta, all of Port Gibson; and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
