VIRGINIA BARNES
CHICAGO Virginia Barnes died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Chicago. She was 66.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Port Gibson to Issac and Onnie Barnes.
She is survived by a daughter, Taressia Ann Barnes Summage; a brother, McKinley Barnes; two sisters, Irene Barnes Tatum and Daisy Bridges; three grandchildren; cousins, including Lela Barnes of Port Gibson; and other relatives and friends, including Isiac Ackward.
Services were Saturday at Rhodes Funeral Home in Chicago with the Rev. L.W. Nance officiating. Burial followed at the Barnes Family Cemetery in Port Gibson.
ANNIE M. COLEMAN
LORMAN Annie M. Coleman died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 80.
Mrs. Coleman was a retired employee of National Plastics Company. She was a member of Morning Star M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Coleman; a daughter, Willie Ruth Coleman; her parents, Joseph and Sarah Thornton Sanders; a sister, Margaret Chambers; and two brothers, Charles Sanders and Willie Lee Sanders.
Survivors include two sisters, Minnie Washington of Kansas City and Bessie Girley of Pine Bluff, Ark.; a brother, Percy Sanders of New Orleans; nieces, nephews and other relatives including Margaret Reynolds and Larry Jones, both of Lorman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Morning Star M.B. Church in Lorman with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial will follow at McCaa Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and from 10 a.m. until the service Saturday at the church.
CAPT. WILLIAM H. SADLER III
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Capt. William H. Sadler III, formerly of Vicksburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, in Norfolk, Va. He was 53.
Capt. Sadler graduated from St. Aloysius High School and the University of Mississippi. He was commissioned as a Naval officer through the University of Mississippi’s NROTC program. He retired as a captain from the U.S. Navy and had served in Vietnam and the Persian Gulf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille Armstrong Sadler and William H. Sadler Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Stewart Sadler of Jacksonville; three daughters, Stacy Sadler and Kate Sadler, both of Jacksonville, and Karen Sadler of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Dr. Robert A. Sadler of Vicksburg; a niece, Chesley Sadler; and four nephews, Rob Sadler, Ryan Sadler, Patrick Sadler and Kelly Sadler, all of Vicksburg.
Services will be Thursday in Norfolk and Sept. 30 in Jacksonville.
