NORMAN WAYNE ALAMOND
TALLULAH Norman Wayne Alamond died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at his home in Tallulah. He was 54.
Born in Sondheimer, La., Mr. Alamond had lived in Tallulah for the past four years. He was a parts manager for a farm-equipment dealer. He was an Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam era.
Survivors include two sons, David Alamond of Ovett, Miss., and Keith Alamond of Oak Grove; a daughter, Pattie Alamond of Oak Grove; two brothers, Robert Floyd Alamond of Keithville, La., and Louis Winslow Alamond of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Betty Jo Dennis of Missouri; a half-sister, Wetona A. Smith of Natchez; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Robert Jobe Sr., Robert Jobe Jr., George A. Alamond, Mark Jobe, Johnny Evans and Bobby Williams.
BILL LUM
Bill Lum died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at his home on Lake Claiborne. He was 69.
Born in Jackson, Mr. Lum had lived at Lake Claiborne for the past 30 years. He was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Port Gibson VFW and Port Gibson Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Anne Lum Sullivant of Mandeville, La.; a niece, Anne Mannina of Tomball, Texas; three nephews, I. Richard Price of College Station, Texas, Michael Sullivant of Liberty, Mo., and Pat Sullivant of Bourg, La.
Services. will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Terrell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service Thursday at the funeral home.
FREDRICK DARNE MUHAMMAD
FAYETTE Brother Fredrick Darne Muhammad died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at Desert Samaritan Care Facility in Phoenix, Ariz. He was 49.
Brother Muhammad was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the New Nation of Islam.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Della Benbow.
Survivors include his wife, Shannone Anderson Muhammad of Phoenix; a son, Malik Muhammad of San Francisco; a daughter, Shamina of San Francisco; six brothers, Michael Jackson of Las Vegas, Eddie Hall of San Diego, Ricky Hall of Kansas, Keith Hall and Ronald Hall , both of San Francisco, and Frankie Hall of Los Angeles; brothers of the New Nation of Islam and other relatives.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette with Brother Marvin Muhammad officiating. Burial will follow at East Mount Olive Cemetery in Red Lick.
Pallbearers will be the Brothers of the New Nation of Islam.
