LOTTIE HOUGH BURLESON

Lottie Hough Burleson died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home.

She was 103.

A native of Morgan County, Ala., Mrs. Burleson had lived in Vicksburg since 1942. She was a milliner. She was a member of Church of the Holy Trinity Episcopal.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Burleson; and her parents, Philip N. and Elizabeth Walling Hough.

She is survived by five nieces, Mollie A. Hendrix, Ruth H. Thomas and Othello H. Guthrie, all of Huntsville, Ala., Mary Ann Drake and Sylvia Brazelton, both of Decatur, Ala.; three nephews, Charles B. Hough of Decatur, Phillip N. Hendrix of Dunellon, Fla., and E.P. Webb of Woodstock, Ga.; and several great-nieces and -nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Bronson Bryant officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service Wednesday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Church of the Holy Trinity Episcopal, 900 South St., Vicksburg, MS. 39180.

RUTH MAE GUY RICHARDSON

Ruth Mae Guy Richardson died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at her home.

She was 89.

Mrs. Richardson, a homemaker, was born in Claiborne County. She attended Wayside Apostolic Church, where she was on the Mother Board.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sol and Cora Guy Claiborne; a daughter, Annette M. Clay; her husband, Henry Richardson; and three brothers.

She is survived by eight grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wayside Apostolic Church with Frank Allen, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

FRANK WARD JR.

Frank Ward Jr. died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center.

He was 71.

Born in Sunflower County, Mr. Ward had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1958. He was a self-employed paint contractor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Edward and Rosia Lee Ward; two sisters, Jesse Mae Eubanks and Lorraine Ward Hasty; and one great-grandson, Joshua Kenneth Wayne Miles.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Saxton Ward of Vicksburg; five daughters, Brenda Blevins and Marie Young, both of Chatsworth, Ga., Jo McDaniel of Satartia, Debbie McDaniel of Bentonia and Elaine Goodson of Vicksburg; one son, Travis Ward of Borger, Texas; five sisters, Doris Davis of Vicksburg, LaRue Buckley, Peggy Sanders, Annette Bishop and Shirley Burns, all of Jackson; two brothers, Thomas Ward of Vicksburg and Charles Ward of Yazoo City; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Glenn Warrington and Billy Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Thomas “Bubba” Ward, Charlie Ward, Louis Hasty, Hugh Hasty, Frank Henson and Thomas Saxton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Lee Humble, Dr. Daniel Edney, Dr. A.G. Bahro, Dr. Yoshinobu Namihara, the staff of ParkView Regional Medical Center and the grandchildren.
