TWO INJURED IN FIGHT AT EDEN POINTE

A Warren County woman was in the county jail today as county officers tried to sort out the details of a fight at a county apartment complex that injured two people.

Connie Williams, 37, 818 Eden Pointe Apartments, was arrested on aggravated assault charges about 2:30 a.m. today, Detective Deputy Tim Williams said. She was being held without bond pending arraignment later today.

Detective Williams said Connie Williams is charged with stabbing Cedric McWilliams, 20, 817 Eden Pointe Apartments, in the back.

The preliminary investigation indicates Connie Williams and Cedric McWilliams argued late Thursday or early this morning. Later, she heard what she thought was someone cutting the tires on her car. She went outside to find she had two flats and a broken windshield.

She then confronted McWilliams, Detective Williams said, and that turned into the fight in which McWilliams was stabbed and Connie Williams suffered a broken arm from being hit with a chair.

Both Connie Williams and McWilliams were taken to ParkView Regional Medical Center for treatment. A hospital spokesman said Connie Williams was treated for a broken arm and released. McWilliams was admitted for treatment of his stab wound and was in stable condition this morning.

LAPTOP COMPUTER, TOOLS AMONG MISSING ITEMS

A laptop computer and some tools were among the items reported taken in two theft reports filed with the Vicksburg Police Department.

An employee of the Anderson-Tully Co. told police at 9:23 a.m. Thursday his Compaq laptop computer valued at $1,400 was missing, said Beverly Prentiss, community relations officer.

She also said a man working at Ameristar Casino told police at 10:45 a.m. Thursday that two 12-inch torque wrenches valued at $500, two 25-foot welding lines valued at $100 and two gauges valued at $50 were missing.
