Idamae Ellzey Odom died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000. She was 82.

Mrs. Odom was born in Norfield, Miss. She had served two terms as president of the Crawford Street United Methodist Women and was honored as a lifetime member of United Methodist Women at the church. She had twice served as dinner chairman of the church’s turkey dinner.

Mrs. Odom served as a Warren County Election Commissioner and was on the administrative board of the church for two terms. She was a member of Martha Circle at the church, where she also taught Sunday school and Bible school.

She was a member and past president of the Vicksburg Junior Auxiliary and had served as a hostess for the Miss Mississippi Pageant since its beginning. She was a member and past president of the Needlework Guild and a lifetime member of her bridge club.

Mrs. Odom was a member of Town and Country Garden Club, Warren County Friends of the Library, Vicksburg Warren Schools’ P.T.A. and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Vicksburg Country Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Ellzey Sr., and a brother, Frank B. Ellzey Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Robert C. Odom Sr. of Vicksburg; three sons, Robert C. “Bobby” Odom Jr. of Vicksburg, Joseph Frank Odom of Ridgeland and Clifton Ellzey Odom of Greenwood; a sister, June Ellzey Wyatt of Florence; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; nieces; nephews; and other relatives, including Rosamond Purviance Ellzey of Pearl.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Crawford Street United Methodist Church with the Revs. Geoffrey Joiner, pastor, Stewart Smith of Jackson and Don Williams of Gulfport officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the service at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Beau Stahl, Paul E.N. Barrett, Fred Newcomb, Larry Little, Tom Rye Wilson Jr., Ed Jackson, Joe Harris and Ray Hume.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Sherard, Shirlye Stahl, Maud Wilson, Jo Harris, Jan Robinson, Vivian Farmer, Valera Vollor, Pat Hosemann, Elizabeth Smith and members of the Aldersgate Sunday school class of Crawford Street United Methodist Church.

PHILOMENA CAVALLO PANTOLIANO

Philomena Cavallo Pantoliano died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 101.

Mrs. Pantoliano was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Orsola Coccaro Cavallo. She attended elementary school at St. Francis Xavier Academy and graduated from Vicksburg High School. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, where she had served with the Altar Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Pantoliano Sr.; a son Thomas D. Pantoliano Jr.; a brother, Emile B. Cavallo; and a sister, Christine C. Bucci.

She is survived by a daughter, Marie Pantoliano of Vicksburg; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mass of the Resurrection will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Joseph Koury officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 Tuesday night at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home. Wake service will be at 6:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Thomas E. Pantoliano, Kenneth J. Pantoliano, Eugene Melsheimer Jr., Michael J. Pantoliano, David A. Pantoliano, Joseph Coccaro, Gerald H. Pantoliano and Philip Bucci.

GEORGE TUCKER SR.

Services for George Tucker Sr. will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Mayfield Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 Tuesday night at the funeral home.

Mr. Tucker died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 50.

He was an employee of APAC Mississippi Inc., and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Penny Tucker, and one brother, Marshall Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Turner Tucker of Vicksburg; four sons, George Tucker Jr., Edward Mitchell and Eric Mitchell, all of Vicksburg, and Christopher Waites of Lorman; two stepsons, Charles Turner Jr. and Christopher Thomas, both of Vicksburg; and two daughters, Rosie Michelle Tucker and Tiffany Turner, both of Vicksburg; his mother, Authur M. Johnson Tucker of Rolling Fork; five brothers, Archie Tucker, Willie E. Williams, Eugene Johnson and Earnest Johnson, all of Rolling Fork, and Eddie Tucker of Vallejo, Calif.; four sisters, Barbara Meeks and Alice Miles, both of Jackson, Linda Brown of Vicksburg, and Mary Ann Gibson of Van Nuys, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and other relatives.
