Porters Chapel (6-4) ended its season with the most productive game offensively in many years.

The Eagles tallied 715 yards in total offense, led by Kyle Ehrhardt’s 317 yards passing on 14 of 17 passing. He connected on three touchdowns and had two interceptions on defense.

“We knew we were going to open it up some,” PCA coach Bubba Mims said.

Dustin Abbot had 145 yards on 10 carries and two touchdowns (10 and 31 yards) and he hauled in five passes for 127 yards, including a 75-yard TD reception.

Jeremiah Riggs, who left the game in the third quarter with a hip pointer, rushed for a game-high 174 yards on 11 carries and scored on runs of 47 and 25 yards.

Heath Smith had a 20-yard touchdown reception and Allen Pugh had a 25-yard TD catch against winless CM&I, playing its first season ever.

Walter Bliss tacked on a 3-yard score as the Eagles grinded out 356 yards on the ground. Abbott completed one pass for 32 yards.

Josh Rush led the defense with 12 tackles and Bliss had 11.

The Eagles scored 21 points in the first quarter, then went in at halftime leading 35-8.

A pair of touchdowns in the third made it 49-14. PCA added one more score in the fourth.

“We did a good job tonight,” said Mims, who came in after Jim Sizemore resigned before the fifth game of the season. Mims led the Eagles to a 3-2 record in the last five weeks. Randy Wright coached the Eagles in a loss to playoff-bound Briarfield as well.
