CARL D. BROWER

YAZOO CITY Carl D. Brower died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, as the result of an automobile accident. He was 41.

Mr. Brower was a diesel mechanic with Beavers Diesel in Vicksburg. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Brower of Yazoo City; a daughter, Stephanie Brower of Yazoo City; his parents, Carl and Alice Brower of Yazoo City; and two brothers, Mike Brower and Dana Brower, both of Yazoo City.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City with the Rev. Richard Colwell officiating. Burial will follow at Ogden Baptist Cemetery in Yazoo City.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 Tuesday night at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Milton Farrish, J.O. Smith, Henry Rhodes, Milton Farrish Jr., Jinx Smith and Billy Guthrie.

REV. ROBERT P. BROWN

Services for the Rev. Robert P. Brown will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at King David No. 2 M.B. Church with the Rev. Johnny L. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home and from noon until the service Thursday at the church. Rites of Friendship Tabernacle No. 391 of the Knights and Daughters of Tabor will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Visitation will follow the service at the E.D. Straughter Baptist Memorial Center.

Rev. Brown died Friday, January 26, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. He was 42.

He attended Utica Junior College and Los Angeles City College. He was a member of King David No. 2 M.B. Church and Friendship Tabernacle No. 391 of the Knights and Daughters of Tabor and a father of the Calvary Tent No. 498.

He was preceded in death by his father, the late Rev. Ben Brown Sr.; and two brothers, Bradford Williams and Bennie Brown.

He is survived by his mother, Martha Brown of Vicksburg; five sisters, Mary Daniels, Roberta Williams, Rose James and JoAnn Moore, all of Vicksburg, and Johnnie Rush of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Ben Brown Jr. of Vicksburg, Willie Brown of Rocky Face, Ga., and Isaac Brown of Baltimore; and other relatives including Hester Watts.

EULA RICHARDSON HARRIS

LONG BEACH, Calif. Eula Richardson Harris died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Speciality Hospital in Long Beach, Calif. She was 62.

Mrs. Harris was born in Hinds County.

She was preceded in death by a son, Roddie L. Harris; and her parents, Lee Virgil and Mary Richardson.

Survivors include four sons, Norman Richardson of Chicago, Leonard Moore of San Diego and Joel Harris and Dwayne Harris, both of Long Beach; two daughters, Angela Harris and She Rae Harris Johnson, both of Long Beach; three brothers, William Richardson of Vicksburg, Romie Richardson of Los Angeles and Elder Freddie Richardson of Palmdale, Calif.; three sisters, Virgie R. Ellis of Vicksburg, Doris Richardson of Los Angeles and Ora R. Wright of Compton, Calif.; her stepmother, Edith V. Richardson of California; a step-brother, Ellick Vaden of Lakewood, Calif.; and other relatives, including Anthony Ellis and Richard Ellis and the Lowe, Elmore, Richardson, Wallace, Lee and Giles families, all of Vicksburg, and the Moore, Richardson and Irving families of Edwards.

Services will be at noon Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mortuary in Long Beach. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.

MARY HOPKINS

Mary Hopkins died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 64.

Mrs. Hopkins was a retired cashier for Jitney Jungle and a member of Jackson Street M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt Sias and Eva Collins Green.

She is survived by a daughter, Eva Hopkins of Jackson; 11 siblings; a cousin, Hattie Ann Brown of Vicksburg and other relatives including Terry Slaughter of Vicksburg.
