FREDDIE C. HUNTER

Freddie C. Hunter died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at his home. He was 62.

A native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Hunter was of the Baptist faith. He retired after 21 years of service from the Vicksburg Chemical Co. maintenance department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryan and Amber Green Hunter; a daughter, Betty Hunter; and two brothers, George Gable and William Gable.

Survivors include three sisters, Linda May and Mary Jo Price, both of Vicksburg, and Barbara Ann Doubleday of Anchorage, Alaska; two brothers, Charles O’Bannon of Vicksburg and Jimmy Hunter of Marietta, Miss.; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Burt Bryant officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Fisher-Riles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Thursday until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Johnson, Ted Crotwell, Steve May, George Price, David Jones and David Porter.

BILL JESTER

FRANKFORT, Ill. Bill “Possum” Jester died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, in Frankfort, Ill. He was 57.

Born in Epps, La., Mr. Jester moved to Illinois in 1969. He was employed as a carpenter-foreman with Lamberti Concrete Co.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Antee; his stepfather, Wiley G. Towne; and two sisters, Bonita Tilden and Tracey Annette Towne.

Survivors include his wife, Corky Jester of Frankfort; two sons, Gene Hickman of Chicago and Josh Jester of Frankfort; two daughters, Kimberly Boyd of Delta, La., and Susan Jester of Waukegan, Ill.; his mother, Penny Towne of Delta; his sister, Catherine Watts of Tallulah; his brother, Scott Towne of Justice, Ill.; and two grandchildren and other relatives.

Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chicago under the direction of Gerardi Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mound Baptist Church in Tallulah.
