JANE DYER CAMPBELL
Jane Dyer Campbell died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 69.
Born in Kittery, Maine, Mrs. Campbell had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1951. She was a retired employee of TG&Y discount store.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Jackson and Catherine Dyer Studer, and a daughter, Sharon Kaye Campbell.
She is survived by her husband, Scottie West Campbell of Vicksburg; a son, David S. Campbell of Biloxi; three daughters, Donna C. Derrick, Sandra J. Rosado and Angela C. Murphy, all of Vicksburg; two sisters, Betty Duane Bremerton of Wash., and Virginia Clarke of Vicksburg; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Tolbert, Russell Braswell, Johnny Means, Leroy Williams, Curtis Holman and Louis A. Nichols.
Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Goss Jr., Grover Sanders, Sam Grogan, Lynn McDuff and the players of bean bag baseball at Vicksburg Senior Center.
JOHN HOWARD KITTRELL
John Howard Kittrell died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 88.
Mr. Kittrell was a native of Tipton and had lived in Vicksburg for 66 years. He had worked for the Civil Conservation Corps, Memphis Fisher Aircraft and drove city buses for 13 years. He was self-employed in the grocery business. He retired from R.G. LeTourneau after 13 years as a security guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lindsey and Ruth Long Kittrell, and a sister, Mildred Hood.
He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
He was survived by his wife, Louise Kittrell of Vicksburg; a son, William H. “Billy” Kittrell Sr., of Edwards; a brother, J.V. Kittrell of Lake Park, Ga.; a sister, Lucille Stansel of Jackson; two grandsons, Glenn Kittrell and Howard Kittrell, both of Edwards, and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Green Acres Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas McGing, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday until the service at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN., 38105.
Pallbearers will be Howard Kittrell, Glenn Kittrell, Chris Antoine, Michael McMillin, Slim Sullivan and Eddie Ray.
GEORGE Y. SHEFFIELD
George Y. Sheffield died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 71.
Mr. Sheffield was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He retired as a budget analyst for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ MAT Sinking Unit. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Sheffield is survived by his wife, Bobbye Lott Sheffield of Vicksburg; a son, David Sheffield of Vicksburg; a daughter, Lita Harker of Charlotte, N.C.; his mother, Christine Sheffield of Vicksburg; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Rieber officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service Monday.
Pallbearers will be Clyde McAuley, John Lanting, Doug Brown, John Lott, Jerry Lamb and K.B. Brown.
Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
MAUDINE H. WHITE
BYRUMB Maudine H. White died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 82.
Mrs. was a retired nurses’ aide and member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl C. White.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Virden of Vicksburg and Jeanie Smatters of Raymond; a son, Clifton White of Dahlonega, Ga., and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery in Winona with the Rev. Glen Pope officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Monday at Oliver Funeral Home of Winona.
