ALFRED DAVIS
PORT GIBSON Alfred “Pap” Davis died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 70.
Mr. Davis was a member and usher at Ashland M.B. Church, where he served on the Finance Committee. He worked at the Farmer’s Co-op for more than 46 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lola Davis of Port Gibson; four sons, Louis E. Davis of Riverside, Calif., Perry E. Davis of Madison, Otis L. Davis of Canton and Kenneth R. Davis of Port Gibson; four stepsons, Freddie Alexander Jr. of Natchez, Calvin Alexander of Port Gibson, Donald L. Alexander of Lorman and Bobby Alexander of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Jacqueline Davis-Slay of Springfield, Va., and LaTonia Johnson of Vicksburg; five stepdaughters, Shirley Williams, Glendora Alexander-Muhammad, Francine Reed and Carolyn Rowan, all of Port Gibson, and Delphine Wells of Vicksburg; three brothers, Aaron Davis, Harrison Davis and Arthurene Davis, all of Buffalo, N.Y.; two sisters, Lizzie Barnes of Port Gibson and Adeline Ford of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 34 stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 21 stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; friends; and other relatives.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ashland M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. James Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the service at the church.
VICTORIA FARRIS NASIF
Victoria Farris Nasif died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at her sister’s home in Enterprise, Ala. She was 84.
Mrs. Nasif lived in Vicksburg most of her life before moving to Alabama in 1998.
She is survived by a daughter, Trina Marie Stevenson of Vicksburg; two sisters, Mary Farris Saloom of Enterprise and Edna Farris Koury of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, Charles Farris of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; three grandchildren, Allison Stevenson, James Stevenson and Robert Stevenson, all of Vicksburg; nieces; nephews; and other relatives, including Martha Farris of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church with the Rev. Peter Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:30 until 7:30 tonight at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with Trisagion Prayers at 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Strickland, Raney Scott, Joe Saloom, Charles Abraham, Ed Koury, Leo Boolos, Moses Moses Jr. and T.D. Farris III.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Nasif, David Hughes, Johnny Nosser, John Nosser Jr., Wayne Thornton, George Habeeb, Shouphie Habeeb, Albert Moses, Ben Shaw, Mike Moses, Greg Thomas, Ed Nosser, Lee Thomas, James Hughes, Freddie Nosser and Ed Habeeb.

ELIZABETH JOHNSON SMITH
Elizabeth “Bessie” Johnson Smith died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at her home. She was 79.
A former employee of Home Laundry, Mrs. Smith was a member of Mount Olive M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leola Woods and Frank Barnes; and a grandson, Anthony Morris.
She is survived by her son, James Johnson of Vicksburg; her daughter Martha Brooks of Vicksburg; three grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
