APAC worker Ronald Skinner runs a power broom to clean up loose asphalt along Washington Street near Grove Street Thursday afternoon. APAC paving crew foreman Eric Null said the milling crew would be working on Washington Street from Veto to Bowmar Avenue Friday. Work began Monday in the downtown area and is expected to take about two months. The pavement will be replaced between Bowmar Avenue and First East Street, except in the downtown mall section. Some traffic on Washington Street and some adjacent streets is being rerouted when work is the heaviest. (The Vicksburg Post/MELANIE DUNCAN)
