PATRICK C. CRUM
Patrick C. “Buttons” Crum died Monday, May 6, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 69.
A native of Port Gibson, Mr. Crum was a former resident of Tallulah and had lived in Vicksburg since 1985. He retired from Waterways Experiment Station as a machinist where he was the foreman of the machine shop.
Mr. Crum was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, B.C. and Martha Mae Crum.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Crum; a daughter, Patti Webb of Vicksburg; a granddaughter, Lindsey Webb of Vicksburg; a grandson, Robert Webb of Vicksburg; a brother, Bryan Crum of Canton, Texas, and three stepsons.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kent Campbell, pastor of Woodlawn Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Guthrie, Terry Booher, Joe Smith, Walter Cade Jr., Robert Smith and Spencer Sevier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kirk Harper, Loretta Hills, the staff at River Region Home Care, the staff at Renex Dialysis Center, the staff of the critical care unit at River Region Medical Center, Janet Wolk, R.N., Dr. Michael Davis, Dr. David Halinski and Dr. Lee Giffin.
ERNEST W. HOVIOUS
Ernest W. Hovious died Monday, May 6, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 89.
He was a member of First Christian Church where he was past elder, trustee and treasurer. He was a member of the state board of Christian Churches and treasurer. He was former secretary and treasurer of the Y Men’s Club, former president of the Lions Club, a member of the Vicksburg Country Club and a member of the Premier Gin Players.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Barfield Hovious; two sisters, Louise Houchins and Audrey Sheffield; his brother, John A. “Junie” Hovious; his father, John A. Hovious; and his mother, Beadie West Hovious.
He is survived by his wife, Beth F. Hovious of Vicksburg; and seven nephews, Bill Hovious, of Hampton, Ga., Allen Hovious of Nashville, Tenn.; Brad Hovious of Houston, Texas, Bob Hovious of Oxford, Larry Houchins of Jackson, Alfred Barfield of Vicksburg and Robert Williams of Memphis.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church with the Revs. Hancell Bankester and Steve A. Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Bill Hovious, Allen Hovious, Brad Hovious, Bob Hovious, Larry Houchins, Alfred Barfield, Robert Williams and Steve Burris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Buckner, Harold Barker, Billy McGehee, Kayo Dottley, Dave Wylie, Randy Crumbley, Bob Odom, Sharp Banks, J.R. Boyd, Emmett Atwood, Judge Frank Vollor, Dr. Edwin Boleware, Dr. Daniel Edney, Dr. L.G. Horn, Larry Calloway, David Gillis and elders of the First Christian Church.

TIMOTHY L. JOHNSON
PATTERSON, Ga. Timothy L. Johnson died Sunday, March 5, 2002, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Lamar County. He was 30.
A native of Wayne County, Ga., Mr. Johnson was a former resident of Vicksburg. He was employed with Paulk Timber Industries in Kingsland, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Gene Johnson.
He is survived by his son, Scott Johnson of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Lauren Johnson and Samantha Nichole Johnson, both of Hattiesburg; his mother, Marie Ammons Thornton of Bristol, Ga.; his sister, Angela Gill of Patterson; his brother, Curtis Johnson of Patterson; and other relatives.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rinehart & Sons Funeral Home in Jesup, Ga. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 until 9 tonight at the funeral home.
LOUISE C. WINGATE
Louise C. Wingate died Sunday, May 5, 2002, at her home. She was 82.
A homemaker, Mrs. Wingate was born in Satartia. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Langley of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Becky Douglas and Bob Harris, both of Vicksburg; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at Stricklin-King Funeral Home with the Revs. Bud Dixon and Albert Grey officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City.
Pallbearers were Frank Grey, Albert Grey, Mark Harris, Theodore Grey, Bob Harris and the Rev. Larry Haggard.
Honorary pallbearers were Nod Porter, Roy Porter, Ray Porter, Harvey White, Lester Davis, Gene Creel and Bobby Harris.
