ROBERT PURDY FLANAGAN JR.

HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. Robert Purdy Flanagan Jr. died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at his home. He was 67.

Mr. Flanagan was born in Greenville. He was a former resident of Portland, Ore., and Vicksburg. He had lived in Vicksburg since 1994. He was a civil engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a member of the Rotary Club and St. Francis Episcopal Church of Heber Springs.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Price Flanagan of Heber Springs; his son, Robert P. Flanagan III of Tupelo; two daughters, Rebecca Flanagan Iftvanko of Memphis and Tracy Flanagan; six grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Francis Episcopal Church with the Rev. David Floyd-Archibald officiating.

LEE DORA SMITH

Services for Lee Dora Smith were today at St. James M.B. Church with the Rev. Charlie Blackmore officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Trace Haven Nursing Home. She was 80.

Born in Tallulah, Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and member of St. James M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Webber; her father, Hudson Bell; a son, Robert Smith; a daughter, Gloriastein Thomas; two sisters, Mary Holliday Johnson and Laura Mays; and two granddaughters, Ledoris Smith Fields and Kawya Moore.

Survivors include four sons, Charles Smith, Otis Smith and Annias Smith, all of Vicksburg, and Eugene Smith of Pontiac, Mich.; six daughters, Sadie Bell of Tallulah, Erma Smith and Carolyn Jenkins, both of Vicksburg, Sandra Williams, Mary Moore of Saginaw, Mich., and Dorothy Hargrove of San Francisco; one brother, Alonzo Webber of Vicksburg; nieces; nephews; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

GEORGE TUCKER JR.

PORT GIBSON George Tucker Jr. died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at his home in Port Gibson. He was 86.

Mr. Tucker was a veteran of the Army. He was a member of China Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie J. Tucker; his parents, George Tucker Sr. and Rebecca Green; a sister, Ethel Ruth Green; a brother, Dan Barnes; and a stepson, Johnnie Johnson Jr.

He is survived by a sister, Margaret R. Wilson of Port Gibson; two stepdaughters, Savannah Johnson of Port Gibson and Inez Kelly of St. Louis, Mo.; a stepson, Samuel Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz.; and other relatives.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at China Grove Baptist Church in Russum with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at McCaa Cemetery in Russum.

Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. Saturday at Rollins Funeral Home in Port Gibson.

BRANDI HAMMONS WILLIAMS

DELHI Brandi Hammons Williams died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident in Benton, Ark. She was 29.

Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Gilbert High School. She was a certified master groomer and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in West Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, A.B. Hammons; her maternal grandfather, Felton Johnson; and her paternal grandmother, Audie Hammons.

She is survived by two daughters, Heidi Williams and Carley Williams, both of West Monroe; two stepsons, Davey Williams of Livingston, Texas, and Kip Williams of Houston, Texas; her father, Buster Hammons of Delhi; her mother, Marcia Hammons; her grandmother, Claudie Johnson of Lake Providence; her sister, Cindy Eley of Gilbert, La.; and other relatives.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at Harmony Baptist Church with the Revs. W.H. “Buck” Curry Jr. and Mark Fenn officiating. Burial followed at Crowville Masonic Cemetery in Crowville, La., under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi.

Pallbearers were cousins Scott Hammons, Mike Hammons, Ben Hammons, Marlin Griffing, Myron Griffing, Todd Pennebaker, Rodney Pennebaker, Jay Johnson, Tom Johnson, Dee Johnson, David Franks and Frank Lofton.

ELISHA WILLIAMS

Services for Elisha Williams will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Revs. Ellis Wilson and Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Williams died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 95.

Mr. Williams was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will Williams and Sarah Carter McGee; a brother, Jessie Williams; and three sisters, Luella Williams, Pearlie Wilson and Alice Berry.

Survivors include a son, Charles Williams of New Orleans; and a daughter, Lucy Straughter of Detroit.

PAMMY WOODWARD

CHICAGO Pammy Woodward died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Swedish American Hospital in Chicago. She was 30.

She was a member of New Birth Church of God in Christ in Chicago.

She was preceded in death by her father, K.C. Woodward.

She is survived by three daughters, Latoneya White, Tonnesha White and Tonnya White, all of Chicago; her son, Tony White of Chicago; her mother, Mary Louise Woodard of Chicago; four sisters, Marsha Woodward and Karen Woodward, both of Chicago, Deborah Green of Denver, Colo., and Carolyn Banks of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Theodore Connor of New York and Ron Banks of Hermanville; her grandmother, Hattie B. Sayles of Pattison; and other relatives.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter M.B. Church in Pattison with the Rev. Troy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. today at Rollins Funeral Home in Port Gibson.
