SUZANNE ELAINE ALEXANDER

Suzanne Elaine Alexander, infant daughter of Mike and Brandy Alexander, died Monday, July 22, 2002, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Kaitlyn Alexander and Carly Jean Alexander, both of Vicksburg; her paternal grandparents, James and Joan Alexander of Vicksburg; and her maternal grandparents, Fred and Shirley Rathbun of Littleton, Colo.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at Green Acres Memorial Park. Burial followed under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

FRED DIXON JR.

Fred Dixon Jr. died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at the G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson. He was 86.

Mr. Dixon was retired from Waterways Experiment Station. He was a veteran of World War II and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Dixon; his father, Fred Dixon Sr.; and a brother, Herman Dixon.

Survivors include two daughters, Corean Cooper and Jessie Chambliss, both of Vicksburg; one brother, George Dixon of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

ROBERT MORGAN

Services for Robert Morgan will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Robbins Funeral Home with Rabbi R. Divine officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Edwards.

Visitation will be today and Thursday until the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Morgan died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 74.

A native of Edwards, Mr. Morgan was a resident of Vicksburg. He was a retired farmer. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his son, Timothy Tillman of Vicksburg; two daughters, Edith Pollard of Vicksburg and Barbara Caston of Champaign, Ill.; his sister, Roberta Carter of Edwards; 12 grandchildren; and other relatives, including John Carter.

JILL C. WHITAKER

Services for Jill C. Whitaker will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Tallulah with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.

Miss Whitaker died Sunday, July 21, 2002. She was 20.

Born in Tallulah, she graduated in 2000 from Tallulah Academy. She was a waitress and would have attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe in the fall. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her father, James E. Whitaker of Tallulah; her mother and stepfather, Cynthia A. and Maurice Machen of Tallulah; two sisters, Jenny Catherine Hopkins of Monroe and Ashton Kelsey Machen of Tallulah; two brothers, Jason Kyle Whitaker and Cameron Scott Machen, both of Tallulah; two stepbrothers, Bill Machen of Tallulah and Len Machen of Start, La.; and her grandparents, Gloria Arender and Billy R. Arender, both of Tallulah.

Pallbearers will be Mike Wicker, Vince Stutts, Eric Holloway, Billy White, Ted Hill and Michael Cummins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Arch Yerger, Ryan Mills, Ed Mills, Ben Arnold and Benji Brooks.
