MERTIE W. PRISOCK

MONROE, LA. Mertie W. Prisock died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, at Azalea Estates Assisted Living Center in Monroe, La. She was 80.

A resident of Monroe, La., Mrs. Prisock was a graduate of Spencer-Draughn Business College in Shreveport, La., a retired supervisor with the Department of Health and Hospitals in Louisiana and a former resident of Delhi.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Olyer M. Prisock; and her parents, Andrew V. Womack and Carrie Mae Ott Womack.

Survivors include a son, Jesse W. Prisock of Delhi; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Delhi with the Rev. Paul Lipe officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Haughton, La.

LEROY P. QUINN JR.

JACKSON Leroy P. Quinn Jr. died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was 62.

A resident of Jackson, Mr. Quinn was a graduate of Belhaven College and served in the Marines for four years. He was an information systems director at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center and a computer analyst with the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board for 15 years. He was a Mason, a member of Wells United Methodist Church and owned a home at Eagle Lake.

Survivors include his fiance, Tina Herrington of Jackson; a son, Tony Quinn of Hattiesburg; a daughter, Lori Fortenberry of Florence, two sisters, Bettye Quinn and Martha Odom, both of Clinton; a grandson; and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wells United Methodist Church in Jackson. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Jackson and from 10 a.m. until the service Tuesday at the church.

MARY ESTELLE ROBERTS

OAK GROVE Mary Estelle Roberts died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at West Carroll Care Center in Oak Grove. She was 95.

Mrs. Roberts was a resident of Oak Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nichol Ray Roberts; a son, Milton Roberts; and her parents, Edd Lindsey and Jessie Lewis Lindsey.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Rose Capers, Christelle Brown, Maxine Klick and Bertha Mae Smith, all of Oak Grove; a son, Charles M. “Shorty” Crook of Oak Grove; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove with the Revs. Paul Ninemire and Linda Chappell. Burial will follow at Kilbourne Cemetery in Kilbourne, La.

Visitation will be until the service today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Mike Brown, David Klick, Dwayne Capers, Johnny Smith, Poncho Roberts, John Warner, Russell Bracy and Danny White.

GARY DEWAYNE VARNER

OAK GROVE Gary Dewayne Varner died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, in Saugerties, N.Y. He was 40.

Mr. Varner was born in Lakeland, Fla.

He is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Charlotte Varner Wright of Oak Grove; three brothers, Sgt. Jeffery Wright of Fort Polk, La., Vernon Wright of Wisner, La., and Greg Wright of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Misty Wright of Oak Grove; and other relatives.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at Forest Corner Cemetery in Forest, La., with Matthew Lacase officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.

Pallbearers were Jeffery Wright, Greg Wright and Vernon Wright.

Honorary pallbearer was Guy McMillan.
