ALBERT ELLIS MOSES

Albert Ellis Moses died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 81.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Moses was a graduate of the University of Mississippi. He co-owned and operated a Jitney Jungle Store for many years and worked part-time as a greeter for Wal-Mart. He was an Army veteran serving during WWII. He was a member of St. George Orthodox Church, the American Legion, the VFW, and the Reserve Officers Association. He was a Mason and a Shriner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John M. Moses Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Dolly Martin Moses of Vicksburg; a daughter, Melanie Hood of Vicksburg; two sisters, Doris Moses Abraham of Marshall, Texas and Ann Moses Sudeiha of Mobile, Ala.; and other relatives.

Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

MARY ELIZABETH PHILLIPS

OAK GROVE, La. Mary Elizabeth Phillips died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at West Carroll Memorial Hospital in Oak Grove. She was 87.

Mrs. Phillips born in Lewisville, Ark. and lived in Oak Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank James Phillips; a son, Johnny Ray Phillips, and her parents, Grover Cleveland and Nannie Clorth Coppock.

She is survived by two sons, Arthur Franklin Phillips of Pioneer, La., and James Phillips of Oak Grove; a daughter, Nannie Bell Kellum of Pioneer; a sister, Maybell Littleton of Avery, Texas; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cox Funeral Home chapel in Oak Grove with the Rev. Annie Mae Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at Red Wing Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. until the service Sunday at Cox Funeral Home.

ISSAC STARKS

FAYETTE Issac Starks died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Natchez Regional Hospital. He was 75.

A resident of Fayette, Mr. Starks was a self-employed auto mechanic in Chicago, Ill. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and an Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Starks; his parents, David Starks and Leon Redding White; two brothers, George Taylor and David Starks; and a sister, Rosetta Taylor.

Survivors include a son, Robert Starks of New Orleans, La.; an adopted son, Clifford Starks of Chicago; a brother, Weston “Peter” Tenner of Fayette; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Fayette with Issac Tenner officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service Sunday at the church.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
