BOBBY E. BAZZEL

Bobby E. Bazzel died Monday, April 1, 2002, at his home. He was 66.

Mr. Bazzel was born in Eupora. He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving from 1955 until 1975. He worked at Vicksburg Hospital as an electrician, retiring in 1995. He was employed by Parkwood South Apartments.

He was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church and was a former youth leader at Oakland Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion. He participated in the Oak Ridge Opry and performed at Levi’s.

Survivors include his wife, Irene M. Bazzel of Vicksburg; one son, Dennis Bazzel of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Denise Willis of Woodville, Wash., and Debbie Bobb of Vicksburg; two sisters, Betty Case and Sue Crawford, both of Vicksburg; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Clyde Pullen and Charlie Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jack Pace, T.D. Easterling, Johnny Griffin, John Oakes, Thomas Powell, Rhea Fuller, Mike Crawford and Jammie Sheller.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Morrow, Ed Case and Lamar Roberts.

MARVIN LEE MAY

NEWELLTON Marvin Lee May died Monday, April 1, 2002, at Tensas Nursing Home in Newellton. He was 80.

Mr. May was a native of Glen Rose, Texas, and had lived in Tensas Parish for 52 years. He was a retired farmer and an Air Force veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, June Wood May of Newellton; one son, Stanley May of Newellton; three daughters, Allison Tullos and Serena Doyle, both of Newellton, and Tammy Hromadka of Pineville, La.; two brothers, George May of El Paso and Alton May of Glen Rose; a sister, Novella Wilson of Glen Rose; and 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. Ronald McKeithen officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Barclay Tullos, John May, Jared Hromadka, Matt Doyle, Chris Corkern and Glenn Caldwell.

CHARLIE MAE PARKER

Charlie Mae Parker died Monday, April 1, 2002, at her home. She was 90.

Mrs. Parker was retired and a member of Mount Zion No. 1 Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Darling; her father, Charlie Holliday; a son, James Brown; two brothers, John Holliday and Eddie Holliday; and a sister, Catherine H. Lynch.

She is survived by a stepdaughter, Gloria Reed of Vicksburg; two cousins, Elayne Woodson-Gamble and Velma R. Woodson; and other relatives and friends, including caregiver Joann Burns Ragan, Fannie W. Brown and members of the Burns family of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
