JAMES HERMAN FIELDS SR.
James Herman Fields Sr., died Friday, June 14, 2002, at Yell County Nursing Home in Ola, Ark. He was 77.
Born in Wynne, Ark., Mr. Fields was a former agricultural salesman, a World War II Army veteran and a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, G.W. and Mildred Fields, and his brother, G.W. Fields Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Bozeman Fields; one son, James H. Fields, Jr., of Vicksburg; seven daughters, Marie Nevels of Vicksburg, Levonne Simmons of Pearl, Patricia Humphrey of Dermont, Ark., Deborah Parker of McGhee, Ark., Carolyn Dolph and Linda Rager, both of Russellville, Ark., and Ann Leach of Plainview, Ark.; one sister, Estelle Marshall of Vicksburg; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Cornwell Chapel in Danville, Ark., with the Rev. Rick Burke officiating. Burial will be at New Bethel Cemetery with military honors by Boyce-Woods VFW Post 3141, Dardanelle.
An open visitation will be at Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville.
Pallbearers will be Brian Fields, Billy Jones, Wayne Jones, Chris Leach, Steve Harmon, Louie Dolph, Earl Thorpe, Rickey Leach, Jay Jay White, Cody White, Steven White and Dalton Rager.
EUNICE BEASLEY SHAPPLEY
Eunice Beasley Shappley died Friday, June 14, 2002, at Peachtree Village in Brandon. She was 81.
Mrs. Shappley lived in Brandon and was a former resident of Hattiesburg, Jackson and Crystal Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Shappley.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynn Shappley Jones of Jackson; one son, William L. Shappley Jr., of Vicksburg; one brother, Floyd Beasley of Utica; and five grandchildren, Dr. W. Hampton Jones III of Dallas, Texas; Brian Shappley Jones and Thomas Matthew Jones, both of Jackson; Katherine Lefoldt Shappley and William L. Shappley III, both of Vicksburg.
Services were Saturday at Utica Cemetery.

ODENE GRAYSON WILLIAMS
Odene Grayson Williams died Saturday, June 15, 2002, in Vicksburg. She was 82.
Mrs. Williams was born in Chicago and had lived in Vicksburg since 1943. She was retired from the Waterways Experiment Station. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Vicksburg and a member of the church’s Phebean Sunday School class.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the Evergreen Garden Club, the Vicksburg Genealogical Association and the Acacia Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley Blount and Minnie E. Grayson; two sisters, Erlene Grayson Piazza and Beulah Bargas; and one brother, Leonard Grayson.
She is survived by her husband, George H. Williams of Vicksburg; one son, Fred Grayson of Vicksburg; two daughters, Margaret Ann Cutting of Jackson and Betty Clay of Durant, Okla.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Vicksburg with the Revs. Eric Thomas and Harry Piazza Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Glenwood Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
Pallbearers will be Trey Curtis, Patrick Morrison, Bill Morrison, Cliff Axtel, Clyde McGehee, Carl Terry Hudson and Michael Piazza.
