Community Alliance names interim director

[7/25/03]Vicksburg native Charlotte Koestler Duffey will assume the post of interim director of the Vicksburg Warren County Community Alliance.

The group was formed about two years ago as an umbrella organization to coordinate the efforts of community agencies and organizations to help avoid duplication of efforts. Duffey will be the first, full-time employee of the Alliance.

Duffey’s pay has not been set, said Jimmy Heidel, executive vice president of the Chamber of Commerce.

Duffey is a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and received a bachelor’s degree in general business from the University of Mississippi and a master’s in career enterprises from the University of North Texas.

She has worked as executive manager of Development Companies Inc. in Memphis, as a financial services representative with Gekere and Associates in Dallas, as an assistant professor at Collin Community College, as assistant manager of Sacred Heart Books and Gifts and, most recently, as vice president of marketing for Numera Software Corp.

She has one son, Thomas, who will be a junior at St. Aloysius, and they are members of St. Paul Catholic Church.

“I want to bring the community together to strengthen all of the community resources and efforts to grow Vicksburg,” Duffey said.
