Jean S. Tacke –>

Jean S. Tacke died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 94.

Mrs. Tacke was born in St. Louis, to Frank and Junne Schenk. She had lived in Vicksburg since 1980. She was of the Christian Science faith.

She was preceded in death by a husband, Orin Randoll.

Survivors include her husband, C.W. “Bud” Tacke Jr. of Vicksburg; two sons, Wayne Randoll of Dallas and Ross Randoll of Campbell, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Mary Annelle Tacke of Jackson and Terri T. Henk of Schenectady, N.Y.; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Riles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the service.

George Lyman Wilson –>

George Lyman Wilson died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 81.

Born in Collins, Mr. Wilson was the son of Dr. and Mrs. L.W. Wilson of Collins. He worked for 30 years for U.S. News and World Report in Washington, D.C., before retiring in 1977.

He had been a Vicksburg resident for the past 26 years.

He is survived by his wife, Lonnie Lytle Wilson; a son, William G. Biedenharn of Baytown, Texas; two sisters, Grace Cunard Wilson and Susie Wilson Bobb, both of Vicksburg; and nieces and nephews.

Private services will be at a later date under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Lucy Giles Woods

PORT GIBSON Lucy Giles Woods died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at Claiborne County Hospital. She was 45.

Mrs. Woods was a member of Rose Hill Christian Church and worked as a correctional officer at Oakley Training School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Colonel Giles Sr. and Canary Jackson Giles; a sister, Jeannie Giles; and two brothers, Colonel Giles Jr. and Ralph Giles Jr.

She is survived by her husband, John Woods Sr. of Port Gibson; two sons, John Woods Jr. and Joshua Woods, both of Port Gibson; two sisters, Patricia Mallory and Gloria Giles, both of Port Gibson; a brother, Smith Daniel Giles of Port Gibson; one grandson, Dapravious Crystain of Port Gibson; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, including Maple Anderson, Nekeyma Beasley, Victoria Crystain and Taisha Barnes, all of Port Gibson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Hill Christian Church in Russum with Walter Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson and from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the service at the church.
