[1/16/03]A Vicksburg woman was killed Wednesday morning when she was ejected from her sport-utility vehicle on Highway 547 near Port Gibson.

Patricia Ruth Spencer, 51, 93 Bellaire Drive, died in a one-vehicle accident about three miles west of Port Gibson, Claiborne County Coroner J.W. Mallett said.

Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol Trooper Stephen Elam said conditions were foggy and Spencer’s vehicle left the road and flipped.

Spencer had worked at Grand Gulf Power Station for many years, Elam said, and was headed to work when the wreck occurred.

Mallett said the wreck happened about 6:50 a.m. He said the cause of her death was multiple trauma.

Glenwood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
