Lorene Dotson

Lorene Dotson died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 76.

A homemaker, Mrs. Dotson was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was also a member of Loving Friendship Chapter No. 20 Order of Eastern Star and Douglas Park Community Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Penn and Rosette Nelson.

Survivors include her husband, Bennie Dotson of Vicksburg; a daughter, Ruby McDonald of Los Angeles; a brother, Johnny Lee Nelson of Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Younger of Vallejo, Calif., and Artie Lee Crumpton of Temple, Texas; and other relatives and friends.

Williams Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Charles Quinton Hester

OAK GROVE Charles Quinton Hester died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was 64.

Mr. Hester was born in Mooresville, Miss., and was a resident of Oak Grove.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Burley Hester; his mother, Essie Mae Hester Church; two brothers, Ronald Earl Hester and J.B. Hester; and a sister, Wanda Jane Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Bankston Hester of Oak Grove; two daughters, Sherry Harper of Kilbourne, La., and Shelia Hann of Nettleton, Miss.; one son, Richard Hester of Nettleton; two sisters, Virginia Riley of Oak Grove and Maxine Osborne of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother, Bobby Mac Lamb of Nettleton; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cox Chapel in Oak Grove with the Rev. William Moden officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Corner Cemetery in Forest, La.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Acreman, Jamie Acreman, Jason Able, Colin Curtis, Roy Neal Dosher and Mike Kindrix.

Cora L. Hester

Cora L. Hester died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at Vicksburg Trace Haven. She was 85.

Mrs. Hester was a native of Vidalia, La., and had lived in Vicksburg most of her life. She was a member of the First Methodist Protestant Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah J. Hester; a grandson, Frank James Moss; a sister, Evelyn Ledlow; and a half-sister, Gerdhie Cannerday.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Ann Hayes of Vicksburg; two brothers, J.D. Vines and Huey P. Vines, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Joyce Bass and Lucille Spruill, both of Monroe; and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Gerald and Reggie Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Robert Quimby, Harvie Oliver, Lester Opoka, Charles Smith, George Nelson and Wesley Cunningham.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of First Methodist Protestant Church.

Fred Mace Jr.

Fred Mace Jr. died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 43.

Mr. Mace was a member of Christian Home M.B. Church No. 1.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Mary Francis Brown, Sammy Lewis, Coniell Warfield and Stafford Mace; and a sister, Frances Claxton.

He is survived by his wife, Callie Mace; two sons, Frederick D. Allen of Vicksburg and Donovan Franklin of Baton Rouge; one daughter, LaToya Allen of Vicksburg; his parents, Fred Mace Sr. and Sarah Lewis Mace, both of Vicksburg; a brother, Thomas Lewis Mace of Vicksburg; one sister, Mary Janice Benson of Brandon; and uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
