Mary Teresa Kenney Hynes
Mary Teresa Kenney Hynes died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 88.
A native of Worcester, Mass., Mrs. Hynes moved to Vicksburg in 1992. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
She was a registered professional physical therapist during the 1930s and 1940s when the nation experienced epidemics of polio, whooping cough, scarlet fever and German measles. She was a lifetime member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
During World War II, she treated the effects of contagious diseases. She continued work as a physical therapist at a school for handicapped children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Michael Hynes; her parents, Michael David and MaryAnn Moriarty Kenney; and a brother, the Rev. Ambrose Kenney.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Michael V. Hynes of Vicksburg; a daughter, Dr. Mary Ellen Hynes of Vicksburg; nieces and nephews; and other relatives, including Dr. Susan V. Atchley.

Riles Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Doris R. Turner
Services for Doris R. Turner were at 10 a.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. John Allen and Scott Reiber officiating. Burial was to follow at 2 p.m. at Mispah Cemetery in Durant.
Pallbearers were Trey Smith, Colin McAneny, Bill Abney, Clyde Donnell and Royce Eaves.
Honorary pallbearers were officers of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the staff of Belmont Place.
Mrs. Turner died Friday, June 20, 2003, at Belmont Place in Vicksburg. She was 84.
She was born in Meridian and had lived in Vicksburg since 1958. She was a retired safety clerk for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Waterways Experiment Station.
She was a member of the Vicksburg Genealogy Society and in square dance clubs. She was also a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Vicksburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Turner; and a son, Charles Edward Turner.
She is survived by three daughters, Julia C. Turner of Pensacola, Fla., Betty T. Choat of Bay St. Louis and Cathy Blanton of Stone Mountain, Ga.; a brother, Jack E. Rutledge of Monroe, La.; eight grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Patients Choice Hospice of Vicksburg.
