Dewey C. Bell II

SAVANNAH, Ga. Dewey C. Bell II died Friday, March 7, 2003, in Georgia. He was 56.

A former resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Bell had recently retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Savannah, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Bell of Savannah; two sisters, Dooley Bell Fava of Charleston, S.C. and Rebecca Bell of Chevy Chase, Md.

Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home in Pooler, Ga. has charge of arrangements.

Sidney L. Smith

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. Sidney L. “Kaiser” Smith died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at his home in Indianapolis. He was 86.

A former resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Smith was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death his mother, Augusta Ozias; his stepfather, Willie Parker-Ozias; and his father Roosevelt Smith.

Survivors include two brothers, Herbert Smith of Vicksburg and James Smith of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Willie Mae Smith of Vicksburg and Johnnie Mae Ashley of Richmon, Calif.; nieces and nephews; and other relatives.

Memorial services will be held in Indianapolis.
