Dr. A.S. Brunton

Dr. A.S. “John” Brunton, a veterinarian in Vicksburg for 40 years, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at his home. He was 82.

A native of Peeble, Scotland, Dr. Brunton had lived in Vicksburg since 1951. He graduated as a pilot with the British Royal Air Force in 1941. He finished preveterinary studies at Florida Southern College and graduated from Auburn University. He retired in 1990.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Miller Brunton; and his parents, William Moffit and Helen Shiels Brunton.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay B. Covode of Pass Christian, Miss., and Margaret Scott Brunton of Philadelphia, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
