The Vicksburg Post prints obituaries for residents, former residents and residents’ immediate family members who resided elsewhere when notified by a family member or a funeral home. There is no charge for printing an obituary, but all are edited to meet the newspaper’s requirements.
Addie Marie Ivory
Addie Marie Ivory died Sunday, July 27, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 23.
Miss Ivory was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Zack Ivory, and her paternal grandparents, Square Harris Sr. and Addie B. Rodgers.
She is survived by a son, Jessie Richard Wilson Jr. of Vicksburg; two daughters, Deja Jackqulyn Ivory and Jessiah Richelle Ashen Wilson, both of Vicksburg; her father, Henry James Harris of Vicksburg; her mother, Janice Marie Ivory of Vallejo, Calif.; her fianc, Jessie Wilson Sr. of Vicksburg; seven brothers, Donell Ivory of San Diego, Henry Harris Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C., and Roosevelt Berry, Henry Harris III, Peter Haggard, Steve Haggard and Jermaine Haggard, all of Vicksburg; five sisters, Gracie Ivory, Martha Haggard, Janie Haggard and Annette Berry, all of Vicksburg, and Senovia Harris of Leedville, N.C.; and other relatives, including members of the Curry, Haggard, Wilson, Harris, Williams, Parker, Taylor, Thomas and Miller families of Vicksburg.
Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Kenna Lyn Mills
Kenna Lyn Mills died Sunday, July 27, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 69.
Born in Great Falls, Mont., Mrs. Mills had been a Vicksburg resident since 1956. She retired as store manager from the Dash-In convenience store. She was a member of Wilderness Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Margaret Alice Barnett.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Hartley and Johnny Hartley, both of Vicksburg; three daughters, Graylyn Crotwell and Terry Nettles, both of Vicksburg, and Paula McQueen of Brandon; a brother, Bobby Barnett of Helena, Mont.; two sisters, Dee Haynie of Belt, Mont., and Evelyn Anderson of Fort McCoy, Fla.; and 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wilderness Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Dunaway officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. Wednesday until the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Glen Page, Chris Hartley, Larry Hartley, Jason Page, Jake Page, Clint King, Josh Moore, Eddie Nettles and James Hartley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Lee Giffin, members of Wilderness Baptist Church and residents of Stonewood Apartments.
Memorials may be made to Keystone Ministries or Wilderness Baptist Church.
