Elizabeth Mitchell Pajerski
Vicksburg artist Elizabeth Mitchell Pajerski died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 87.
Mrs. Pajerski was a Meridian native and had been a Vicksburg resident since 1938.
Her works had been exhibited in local, state and national art shows. She was a member of the Vicksburg Art Association, the Mississippi State Art Association, the Meridian Art Association and the Mississippi Chapter of the National Museum of Women in Arts in Washington, D.C.
Mrs. Pajerski was a member of the Vicksburg Garden Club, Daughters of the American Revolution and numerous local civic organizations. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Madison Fred and Mattie Lyle Mitchell, and a brother, Tom Lyle Mitchell.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Pajerski of Vicksburg; two sons, Frank J. Pajerski Jr. of Fair Oaks, Calif., and Fred M. Pajerski of New York, N.Y.; one brother, Madison Fred Mitchell of New York City; a grandson, Mark Joseph Pajerski of New York; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fisher Funeral Home with Drs. Eric Thomas and John G. McCall officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. Tuesday until the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ed Clark, Jesse Davenport, Sam Derby, Ray English, Joseph A. Gerache, Shouphie Habeeb, David Haworth, Tom Hill, Grady Leese, Allen Rooke, Junior Tew and D.P. Waring Jr.
Friends present will be honorary pallbearers.

Albert Craft
Albert “Pete” Craft died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at his home. He was 67.
A native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Craft was the son of the late Albert and Lauretta May Ranier Craft. He was a retired steel worker and an Army veteran. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and St. Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary Craft of Vicksburg; two sons, Herbert Earl Bracey and Michael Albert Bracey, both of Denver; a sister, Jennie Bench of Tennessee; and a brother, Bennie Craft of Louisiana.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Patrick Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Barrett, Rusty Price, Elmer Keller and Frances Jackson.
Albert Brown
Albert Brown died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 61.
Born in Crystal Springs, Mr. Brown had been a Vicksburg resident for the past 40 years. He was a retired transport driver for Falco Lime Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Wade Brown of Vicksburg; a number of sons; two sisters, Doris Martin and Willie Mae Bell Pickett, both of Crystal Springs; grandchildren; and other relatives.
Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Trudy Roberts Kirkland
OAK GROVE Trudy Roberts Kirkland died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003. She was 94.
Mrs. Kirkland was born in Cole, Miss., and moved with her family to Terry, La., in 1908. She attended Louisiana Tech University and worked as a teacher.
She was a former member of Kilbourne Methodist Church. She taught adult Bible class at Forest Methodist Church until it was combined with First United Methodist Church in Oak Grove.
Mrs. Kirkland was preceded in death by her husband, B.C. Kirkland; her parents, Bob and Bertha Roberts; a sister, Daisy Cook; and three brothers, Willie Roberts, Nichol Roberts and J.K. Roberts.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Smith of Oak Grove and Virginia Malek of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with the Rev. Joe Hoover officiating and eulogy by Mrs. Kirkland’s nephew, Glynn David Roberts. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Henderson, Ron Henderson, Brian Cockerham, Len Sanders, Tommy Malone and Howard Fager.
