Alva Sina Meekins Meeks

Alva Sina Meekins Meeks died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at University Medical Center in Jackson as the result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident. She was 69.
Mrs. Meeks was a homemaker and member of St. Paul M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Meekins Sr.; a brother, Charles Meekins Jr.; and two sisters, Charlotte Smith and Alberta Meekins.
Survivors include her husband, James Meeks of Bovina; her mother, Nicie Flowers Meekins of Vicksburg; three sons, Ferdie Ray Meeks of Los Angeles, Orlando Wendell Meeks of Vicksburg and Gregory Benard Meeks of Brookhaven; five daughters, Alva Coleman, Williette Rawlings and Janet Oliver Jones, all of Vicksburg, Diane Thomas of Memphis and Sandra Jo Hodge of Texarkana, Texas; two brothers, John Samuel Meekins of Vicksburg and George Reginald Meekins of Atlanta; two sisters, Magnoria Smothers and Ruth Lowe, both of Vicksburg; 17 grandchildren; great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul M.B. Church with the Rev. Tyrone Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the service at the church.
Rosemary Moore Schaff
Rosemary Moore Schaff died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003. She was 82.
A longtime Vicksburg resident, Mrs. Schaff was a native of Ohio. She worked as chief of editing in the Department of Reports/Reproductions Laboratory at Waterways Experiment Station for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George Schaff.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, including Marian Beall of Columbus, Jeanne Guichard of Metairie, La., Mary Claire Maggio of Navasota, Texas, David Schaff of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Meredith Schaff of Scottsbluff, Neb.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fisher Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be David Beall, Joe Beall, Walter Beall, Kenneth Guichard, David Schaff and George Schaff.
Memorials may be made to Vicksburg Catholic School.
Royzell Wynn
Royzell Wynn died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 63.
A native of Sharkey County, Ms. Wynn was a certified nursing assistant and member of Faith Christian Center of Vicksburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sennie and Melissie Chase Wynn.
She is survived by four sons, Aaron Wynn, Darius Wynn, Michael Wynn and Justin Wynn, all of Vicksburg; three daughters, Carolyn Shell, Makita Wynn and Angel Wynn, all of Vicksburg; two sisters, Elizabeth Wynn and Rosie Wynn, both of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
