Acie Phillip Clanton

Acie Phillip Clanton died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. He was 58.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Clanton was a truck driver. He served in the Army and was a member of Triumph Church.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Sheree Clanton of Vicksburg; two sons, Chuck Clanton and Scott Clanton, both of Vicksburg; his mother, Margaret Cockrell of Vicksburg; one sister, Anita Speed of Vicksburg; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Triumph Church with Mike Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight the church.

Pallbearers will be Cecil Geter, Harold Brunson, Joey Brunson, Scott Speed, Landon Fields and James Vines.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Hensley, Eric Cockrell, Jerry Conrad, Jerry Price, Dr. J. Russell Barnes and the staff of Shady Lawn Nursing Home.

Arzenetta Doyle

Arzenetta Doyle died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 79.

A Warren County native, Miss Doyle was a retired domestic worker. She was a member of Holly Grove M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Jones, and her parents, Will and Lubertha Martin Doyle.

She is survived by a brother, Bobby G. Doyle of Vicksburg; three sisters, Ruby Doyle, Effie Claxton and Verna Mae Doyle, all of Vicksburg; and three grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holly Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Robert L. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Lottie Mae Shamblin

Lottie Mae Shamblin died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at Belmont Place. She was 93.

Born in Harrisonburg, La., Mrs. Shamblin had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1938. She was retired from the Vicksburg School District and was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was in the Deborah Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Omega H. Shamblin; two sisters, Lucille Randall and Mary Huff Swaggart; a brother, Walter Talliaferro; and two grandchildren, Sylvain Scott Klaus and Stacey Kay Klaus.

Survivors include a son, James W. Shamblin of Jackson; two daughters, Alta Mae Klaus and Carol Ann Oakman, both of Vicksburg; and four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with Dr. John G. McCall officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be T.J. Buck, James Buck, Dan Burch, Tommy Estale, Joey Evans, Walter Markham Kraus, Mark Kraus and Joe Bondaurant.
