Willie B. Carson

RIVERSIDE, Calif. Willie B. Carson died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, in Riverside, Calif. He was 58.

A resident of Riverside, Mr. Carson was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Coca-Cola Company after 30 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie B. Carson; a brother, Andrew Carson; and a sister, Laura Carson.

Survivors include his mother, Carrie Lee Carson of Vicksburg; two daughters, Gina Martin of California and Tamela Martin of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Calvin “Bud” Carson and Harold Carson, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Carrie Whaley of Houston and Debbie Conway of Las Vegas; and other relatives and friends.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

Sarah Jenne Garvey

BOYLE, Miss. Sarah Jenne Garvey died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at her home in Boyle, Miss. She was 77.

Born in Vicksburg to George and Josephine Jenne, Mrs. Garvey was a graduate of St. Clara Academy. She was a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church, where she served on the Parish Council, the pastoral planning committee and was a Eucharistic minister.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Kelly Garvey of Boyle; a son, Michael Kelly Garvey of Hattiesburg; four daughters, Jenne Garvey Rodriguez of Lincoln, Neb., Janet Garvey Baradell of Durham, N.C., Kathleen Garvey Braun of Gulfport and Rebecca Garvey Currie of Harrison, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Josephine Shackleford of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and seven grandsons.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Cleveland with the Rev. Tom Lalor officiating. Burial will follow at New Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, Miss.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at the church. Rosary will follow at 7.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Garvey Jr., Bryan Garvey, Timothy Garvey, Matthew Currie, Gavin Currie, Thomas Currie and Zachary Rodriguez.

Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church or Community Hospice Care of Cleveland, Staff Development Fund, P.O. Box, 1264, Cleveland, MS 38732.

Asia Irwin

Services for Asia Irwin will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Service.

Visitation and rosary will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Irwin died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 85.

A retired cosmetologist, Mrs. Irwin was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Annie Buford; two brothers, Melba Buford and Marion Buford and three sisters, Willie Mae Ferrell, Jessie Buford and Lillie Buford.

Mrs. Irwin is survived by her husband, George Irwin of Vicksburg; a daughter, Carolyn Bingham of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; and friends and family.
