Mamie Lee Funches Barnes
Services for Mamie Lee Funches Barnes will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Oak Ridge M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Henry Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and from noon Saturday until the service at the church.
Mrs. Barnes died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 61.
Mrs. Barnes was a member of New Oak Ridge M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Leroy Barnes Jr.; a granddaughter, Kathy Marie Funches; and her parents, J.B. and Leonia Funches.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy Barnes Sr. of Edwards; three sons, J.B. Barnes and Kevin Barnes, both of Edwards, and Willie Barnes Sr. of Utica; four daughters, Bobbie Funches, Janice Barnes and Tammy Barnes, all of Vicksburg, and Angela Barnes of Edwards; and 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and other relatives.
Theodore Roosevelt Bingham Jr.
Services for Theodore Roosevelt Bingham Jr. will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Henry L. Bingham officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home.
Visitation will be today and until the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bingham died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at Happy Acres Home in Bonifay, Fla. He was 70.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Roosevelt Bingham Sr., and a sister.
Survivors include his mother, Tennessee Faire Taylor of Saginaw, Mich.; two sisters, Michele Smith and Janet Turner Jackson, both of Vicksburg; and three brothers, Robert Bingham of Jacksonville, Fla., Henry Bingham of Springfield, Va., and Jerome Bingham of Memphis.
Frank Brown
Services for Frank Brown will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Grove Church. Burial will follow at Wright Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 until 6 tonight at Williams Funeral Service.
Mr. Brown died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. He was 99.
Mr. Brown was a member of St. John M.B. Church and the St. John Burial Association. He was a farmer and retired from the City of Vicksburg Gas Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Frances Brown; two brothers, Jim Brown and Hosey Brown; and three sisters, Ernestine Reed, Mary Brown and Pearlie Wade.
Survivors include a daughter, Bertha Elliott of San Jose, Calif.; nieces and nephews; friends and other relatives, including Lou Ella Brown and Lillian W. Brown, both of Vicksburg.
Dr. Adam Scott Brunton
Memorial services for Dr. Adam Scott “John” Brunton will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fisher Funeral Home.
Dr. Brunton, a veterinarian in Vicksburg for 40 years, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at his home. He was 82.
A native of Peebles, Scotland, Dr. Brunton had lived in Vicksburg since 1951. He graduated as a pilot with the British Royal Air Force in 1941 and flew in World War II. He finished preveterinary studies at Florida Southern College and graduated from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine.
He practiced as partner and owner of the Vicksburg Animal Hospital from 1951 until 1991. He was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Miller Brunton, and his parents, William Moffit and Helen Shiels Brunton.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay B. Covode of Pass Christian, Miss., and Margaret Scott Brunton of Philadelphia, Pa.; and two grandchildren, John Scott Covode of Macon, Ga., and Carrie Cassels Covode of Birmingham, Ala.
