Frank James Braboy

Frank James Braboy died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 89.

A resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Braboy was a member of King David M.B. No. 1 Church, where he was a former member of the usher board. He was an Army veteran, having served in World War II, and a member of American Legion Tyner-Ford Post 213. He was retired from the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles W. Hamberlin; his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Braboy; and a sister, Rosetta Braboy Turner.

Survivors include his wife, Josie Sims Braboy of Vicksburg; a brother, Robrell Howard of New Orleans; two sisters, Katie Braboy Manadier and Minnie Braboy Sherman, both of Chicago; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including James Kline of Chicago.

Andrea B. Jackson

Andrea B. Jackson died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at her home. She was 40.

Ms. Jackson was a 1982 graduate of Vicksburg High School. She received a bachelor of science degree from Alcorn State University in 1986. She was employed at Skytel in customer service and was a member of First Baptist Church on Lane Street.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Brown Sr.; one brother, John Walter “Jake” Brown; one sister, Pearlie Mae Jones; her maternal grandmother, Pearlie Williams; and her paternal grandparents, Jack and Mary Lou Brown.

Survivors include a son, Courvoisier O. Jackson of Jackson; a daughter, Venchinza P. Jackson of Jackson; her mother, Hester Williams Brown of Vicksburg; five brothers, Henry Brown Jr. of Chicago and Charlie Brown, Lee Dudley Brown, Michael Carl Brown and Floyd Ray Brown, all of Vicksburg; four sisters, Elnora Brown, Linda Kaye Brown and Janice L. Brown, all of Vicksburg, and Sharolyn Faye Young of Jackson; her maternal grandfather, Henderson Williams of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

C.L. McGaha Jr.

OAK GROVE C.L. McGaha Jr. died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at West Carroll Care Center in Oak Grove. He was 82.

A resident of Oak Grove, Mr. McGaha was retired from the ASCS office and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was also a deacon of Macedonia Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ciscero Leslie and Velma Mae McGaha; and a sister, Mary Vee Haynes.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Elizabeth McGaha of Oak Grove; two sons, Bruce McGaha and Bryan McGaha, both of Oak Grove; three stepdaughters, Anita Williams, Renvah Thomas and Kathy Warren, all of Oak Grove; a stepson, Ed Stephens of Oak Grove; two sisters, Estelle Veasy of Oak Grove and Maurice Seamans of Ruston, La.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.

Pallbearers will be James Bruce, John H. Costello, Billy Ray Costello, Willie Capers, Enos Wicker and Melvin Warren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Artis Stephens, A.G. Crowe, Leonard Wicker and Dan Wicker.

Eliza Watkins

UTICA Eliza Watkins died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 86.

Miss Watkins was a resident of Utica and a homemaker.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Traveler M.B. Church. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in Utica under the direction of Westhaven Funeral Home of Utica.

Walter W. Wigley

YAZOO CITY Walter W. Wigley died today, Nov. 4, 2004, in Yazoo City. He was 85.

Mr. Wigley was a resident of Yazoo City.

He is survived by his wife, Earline Wigley; four sons, David Wigley of Vicksburg, Billy Wigley of Lexington, Larry Wigley of Florence and Woody Wigley of Hazlehurst; two daughters, Emily Wigley of Missouri and Mary Ann Hill of Yazoo City; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City has charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Allison P. Wilson

Allison P. “Al” Wilson died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 67.

Mr. Wilson was a resident of Vicksburg and was retired.

He is survived by a sister, Hattie Brown of Greenville; nieces and nephews, including Cheryl Brown and Melvin Tyler, both of Jackson, and Linda Sandles and Johnny Williams III, both of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends.
