Annie Belle Gividen

Annie Belle Gividen died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 83.

Born in Fitler, Mrs. Gividen lived a number of years in Baton Rouge and Vicksburg. In 1958, she moved to Salt Lake City, where she owned a restaurant. In 1986 she moved back to Vicksburg, where she was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Mrs. Gividen was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Gividen.

She is survived by a son, Joe Curro of Vicksburg; a brother, Robert Wrenn of Charleston; and seven nephews.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop Robert Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:30 until the time of service at the church.

Honorary pallbearers and pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews.

William Dorsey Wilkerson II

ROLLING FORK William “Dempsey” Dorsey Wilkerson II died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. He was 19.

A former resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Wilkerson had lived in Greenville for the past five years. He was a member of Oakland Baptist Church in Vicksburg.

Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his mother, Kitty S. Lester of Greenville; his father, Bert S. Wilkerson II of Vicksburg; his stepmother, Cathy Wilkerson of Vicksburg; five brothers, Spencer Wilkerson of Vicksburg, Corbin McCarty and Danny Lester Jr., Matthew Lester and Wesley Lester, all of Greenville; two sisters, Melissa Hearn of Raymond and Renee Lester of Greenville; and other relatives.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork with the Rev. Kevin Marr officiating.

Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the trust fund for William Dorsey Wilkerson II at any Bank of Anguilla.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Wilkerson, Joseph Simmons Jr., Cody Norris, Tyler Malloey, David Bilbo, Jason Tramell and Jeremy Yates.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. John Brooks, Dr. John Turner, Steven Hearn, Shelby Hearn, Danny Lester Jr., Michael Sullivan, David Sullivan, Brad Sullivan and Bryan Sullivan.

Ellen Haven Wilson

Ellen Haven Wilson died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 70.

A native of Vicksburg, she and her husband owned Wilson Hardware for more than 50 years and retired in 2002. Mrs. Wilson was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wilson; and her parents, Edwin and Ethel Sossamon Haven.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by two daughters, Patricia Stuart of Vicksburg and Rosemary Wilson of Brandon; three sons, James Wilson Jr. of Pearl, William “Butch” Wilson of Vicksburg and David Wilson of Clinton; a sister, Louise Price of Bossier City, La.; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. P.J. Curley officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. today at Fisher Funeral Home with a wake service at 4:30.

Pallbearers will be William “Butch” Wilson, James Wilson, David Wilson, Stephen Stuart, Bob LaBarre and Jerry Boland.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Flanagan, Jerry Mayfield, Billy LaBarre and Joseph Parks.
