Jerry Wayne Chavers Sr.
OAK GROVE Jerry Wayne Chavers Sr. died Thursday, March 18, 2004, at his home. He was 57.
Mr. Chavers was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Talmadge and Ruby Jewel Chambers Sr.; two wives, Glenda Love Chavers and Helen Lucy Chavers; one son, Jerry Wayne Chavers Jr.; one brother, Henry N. Yates; and one sister, Opal Jean Kelly.
He is survived by three brothers, Lloyd Chavers Jr. and Ben Chavers, both of Oak Grove, and Ben Chavers of Inkom, Idaho; and three sisters, Patsy Lytle, Dixie Lytle and Joan Aaron, all of Oak Grove.
Services will be at 4 today at Beulah Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Sikes of Unity Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow there.
Pallbearers will be Eric Molinar, Ben Chavers, Roy Dean Wink, Dale Jones, Timothy Still and Rodney Still.
Annie F. Freeman
STANTON Annie F. Freeman died Friday, March 19, 2004, at Natchez Community Hospital.
Mrs. Freeman was born in Amite County. She was a charter member of Stanton Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Ruff” Freeman; one daughter, Peggy Freeman; her parents, Albert Oliver and Eunice Stokes Forman; and four brothers and three sisters, including a twin sister.
She is survived by one daughter, Norma J. Cocilova of Vicksburg, and one son, Buddy Freeman of Vicksburg; two brothers, Doyle Forman of Pasadena, Texas, and Jamie Forman of Asheville, N.C.; two sisters, Dell Runyon of Marion, Ky., and Kathleen “Sis” Nolen of Poplarville; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Stanton Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Purvis officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hamburg.
Visitation will be at Laird Funeral Home Union Street in Natchez from 5 until 7 tonight and at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the service.
Alva Edwin Prevost
OAK GROVE Alva Edwin “Ed” Prevost died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was 65.
Mr. Prevost was born in McCool. He was a Louisiana-certified real-estate general appraiser and a member of First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bryan Alexander Prevost, and one brother, Larry Bryan Prevost.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Helen Prevost; one son, Eddie Prevost of Amsterdam, N.Y.; two daughters, Cindy Prevost Basco of Ruston, La., and Nicole Prevost Slaughter of Monroe, La.; his mother, Mary Virginia Prevost of Vicksburg; and one sister, Jaynie Prevost Bridges of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Bob Chestnut, Kenneth Turner, Chuck Little, Jerry Harper, John Mercer and Tommy Clarkson.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Messina, Wes Lowe, Don Walker, Kirk Morley, Bill Barthel, John Sibley and Gary Evan.
