Bruce Carver Farnsworth
Bruce Carver Farnsworth died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 57.
Mr. Farnsworth was born in Santa Monica, Calif., and had lived in Vicksburg since 1965.
He graduated from the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity.
He was the owner and manager of Perry Lumber Company for many years and was a member and past president of the Vicksburg Kiwanis Club, in which he was also secretary-treasurer for 15 years.
Mr. Farnsworth was a past lieutenant governor and district committee member for the Louisiana-Mississippi-West Tennessee District of Kiwanis International.
He was also active in civic and cultural organizations including serving as past president for the Foundation for Historic Preservation and Keep Vicksburg-Warren Beautiful. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert S. Farnsworth.
Mr. Farnsworth is survived by his mother, Mrs. Leone Templeton Farnsworth Dingman of Vicksburg; two brothers, Perry E. Farnsworth of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Blake T. Farnsworth of Tucson, Ariz.; two nephews and several cousins including members of the Perry, Rigby and Collier families and Martha Maupin Whitaker of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Episcopal Church with the Revs. Chan Osborn de Anaya and Denny Allman officiating.

Rev. U.J. Moffett
The Rev. U.J. Moffett died Friday, July 23, 2004, at Vicksburg Trace Haven Nursing Home. He was 70.
Rev. Moffett was a member of St. Luke M.B. Church and was a truck driver with S.P. Browning Trucking Company and Thigpen Trucking Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, U.J. Moffett and Irene Grafton Moffett; and two brothers, Laurence Moffett and Samuel Moffett.
Rev. Moffett is survived by his wife, Ida Moffett of Vicksburg; four sons, Richard Martin of Jackson and U.J. Moffett III, Michael Moffett and Christopher Moffett, all of Vicksburg; three daughters, Beverly Slater, Cynthia Moffett and Tiffany Moffett, all of Vicksburg; three brothers, the Rev. Isaac Moffett of Muskegon, Mich., David Moffett of St. Louis, and the Rev. Will Moffett of Vicksburg; his sister, Goldia M. Revies of Jackson; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and other relatives and friends, including Joyce Allen of Vicksburg.
Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.
Wayne Tolbert
Wayne Tolbert died Friday, July 23, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 61.
Mr. Tolbert was born in Shreveport, La., and worked with TG&Y Company for more than 23 years before retiring in 1976.
He had been the owner of Warrenton Farm and Garden for the past 23 years. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Mr. Tolbert was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Earl Tolbert and Dessie Shows Tolbert; and his brother, Robert Tolbert.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Harkins Tolbert of Vicksburg; his daughter, Laura Ann Kaufman of Vicksburg; his son, Gary Wayne Tolbert of Clinton; his sister Brenda Williams of Shreveport; a brother, David Tolbert of West Monroe, La.; four grandchildren and other relatives.
