Cled Wallace Priddy

LOCUST BAYOU, Ark. Cled Wallace “The Candy Man” Priddy died Saturday, May 22, 2004, at his home in Locust Bayou, Ark. He was 81.

Mr. Priddy was an Army veteran of World War II and a former owner of Monarch Wedge Company and Priddy’s Texaco. He was a member of Maul Road Church of Christ, the Locust Bayou Volunteer Fire Department and the Calhoun County Fair Board. He was also a former justice of the peace in Calhoun County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John M. and Lucy Waldrip Priddy; two great-grandchildren, Foster Whittington and Justiss Marie Priddy; and eight brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Sue Priddy of Locust Bayou; a son, Randall Priddy of Locust Bayou; two daughters, Karen Smith of Locust Bayou and Virginia Whittington of Vicksburg; two brothers, J.D. Priddy of Bastrop, La., and Jerald “Frog” Priddy of Locust Bayou; two sisters, Hilda Russell of Fordyce, Ark., and Onnye Newton of Hampton, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Maul Road Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Plunkett Cemetery. Proctor Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 6 until 9 tonight at Mr. Priddy’s home, Route 4 Box 140, Locust Bayou.

Michael Ritz Sivley

GREENWOOD Michael Ritz Sivley died Friday, May 28, 2004, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 36.

Mr. Sivley was a native of Greenwood, where he attended Greenwood High School. He was a longtime printing press operator for Lawrence Printing Co. and Spectium Printing Co.

He is survived by mother, Diane Goss Temple, and stepfather David Temple, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, Mitch Temple and Matt Temple, and one sister, Amy Hynum, all of Vicksburg; and two sons, Dylan Sivley and Tony Sivley, both of Greenwood.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Wilson & Knight Chapel in Greenwood with the Rev. James McElroy officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Reeves, Tony Reeves, Spence Goss, Todd Goss, Cam Goss, Les Upchurch, Mike Miller and Danny Clark.

Katie Louisa Hull Snow

UTICA Services for Katie Louisa Hull Snow will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Greater Zion Travelers M.B. Church under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home of Jackson.

Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Snow died Friday, May 21, 2004, in Hinds County. She was 91.

Born in Edwards to Annie and Leonard Hull, Mrs. Snow attended Mississippi public schools, Tougaloo College and Jackson State University. She taught in the Hinds County Schools and was employed at Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg for a number of years.

She was a member of Greater Zion Travelers M.B. Church in Utica and the Heroines of Jericho.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Snow Sr.; three sons; and two daughters.

Survivors include two sons, Roy Snow of Hartford, Conn., and Cordell Snow of Bloomfield, Conn.; four daughters, Gloria Snow Williams of Hartford, Christine Snow of Jackson, Kathleen Snow Howard of Edwards and Annie Ruth Snow Pettway of Wethersfield, Conn.; and 26 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Greater Zion Travelers Mothers Board.
