Louis Gray

Services for Louis Gray will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Cosey officiating. Burial will follow at Yokena Cemetery.

Mr. Gray died Thursday, May 6, 2004, at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y. He was 71.

A former Vicksburg resident, Mr. Gray lived in Buffalo. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired construction worker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Hicks and Alice Eastman Allison; and a sister, Willie Mae Gray Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Katie Gray of Vicksburg; three sons, Herbert Gray, Jimmy L. Gray and Larry Gray, all of Vicksburg; two daughters, Donna Gray and Belinda Gray, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Rose Lee Thomas of Buffalo; three brothers, James Giles, John Henry Giles and Albert Allison, all of Buffalo; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends, including Betty Davis, Jearline and Benie Cosby, and members of the Eastman family.

Harry Parker

PORT GIBSON Harry Parker died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at Claiborne County Hospital. He was 95.

A resident of Port Gibson, Mr. Parker was a member of Greater St. Mark M.B. Church and was a former employee of Claiborne Hardware.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Blackburn Parker; his parents, Will and Mildred Parker; a sister, Louise Miller; and two brothers, Will Parker Jr. and Luscious Parker Sr.

Survivors include two daughters, Deloris L. Parker of Hinesville, Ga., and Sandra Hyder of Port Gibson; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends, including Keith Parker and Ceta Barber of Port Gibson and Mary Catherine Archer and Shaun Archer of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Greater St. Mark M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Leon Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Scott’s Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 until 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon Thursday until the service at the church.
