John Wayne Edmonson
OAK GROVE John Wayne Edmonson died Thursday, April 1, 2004, at West Carroll Memorial Hospital in Oak Grove. He was 65.
Mr. Edmonson was a resident of Oak Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Ola Edmonson.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Edmonson of Forest, La.; a son, Berry Wayne Edmonson of Oak Grove; a stepson, Bryan Harris of Lake Providence; a stepdaughter, Angela Hopkins of Oak Grove; a brother, Ronny Edmonson of Monroe; two sisters, Resa Carroll of Athens, Texas, and Della Ainsworth of Oak Grove; two grandsons, Trent Edmonson and Zayne Edmonson, both of Oak Grove; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Forest Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Ballard officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.
Visitation will be until 9 tonight and from 8 a.m. until noon Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Richard Ainsworth, Shelby Ainsworth, David Ainsworth, Gene Ainsworth, Zach Berry, Garreth Wingfield, Lowry Edmonson, Ronald Goodwin and Dennie Crowe.
Michael R. Thomas
Michael R. Thomas died Thursday, April 1, 2004, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 54.
Mr. Thomas was a retired educator who earned his bachelor of science degree from Alcorn State University. He was a member of several organizations including Sunshine Lodge No. 99, Israel Shrine Temple No. 7, Moses Royal Arch Chapter, Buckley’s Grand Encampment, Knights Templar, United Supreme Council 33rd and Last Degree, Arabian Grand Shrine Temple and Mount Nebo Royal Arch.
He was a member of the New Mount Elam M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Ethel Bernard Rainey, and his parents, Bennie Calvin and Bernard Rainey Thomas.
He is survived by a daughter, Charity L. Thomas of Jackson; a brother, William Thomas of Leesville, La.; two sister, Georgia Thomas of Leesville and Rose Jackson of Mansfield, La.; a grandson, Craig Thomas of Jackson; stepfather, George Thomas of Shreveport, La.; and others including Patricia Thomas of Jackson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the New Mount Elam M.B. Church with the Rev. Leonard Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home chapel.
