Cornelius M. Antwine Sr.

Cornelius M. “Neal” Antwine Sr. died Saturday at his home. He was 73.

Mr. Antwine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Tyner-Ford Post 213.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Luster and Rosetta Antwine.

He was survived by his wife, Doretha Bradley Antwine of Vicksburg; a daughter, Charlene Antwine Knight of Vicksburg; three sons, Cornelius M. Antwine Jr., of Vicksburg, Jeffrey Antwine of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Darryl P. Antwine of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Robert M. Antwine of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

J. Eleanor Caldwell

J. Eleanor Caldwell died Friday, May 28, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 72.

Mrs. Caldwell was a native of Auburn Heights, Mich., and had lived in Vicksburg since 1962. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jessie Prashall Evon.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Francis Evon; and six sisters, Helen Marie Bradish, Beverly Evon, Barbara Evon, Margaret Evon, Vivian Longstaff and Margory Horsey.

Mrs. Caldwell is survived by her husband, William Kinley Caldwell of Vicksburg; three sons, William K. Caldwell Jr. of Kenner, La.; Steven Roy Caldwell of Canton, Mass.; and Richard Malcolm Caldwell of Vicksburg; two brothers, Arthur Evon Jr. and Charles Evon; three sisters, Mary Marsh, Arlene Wilson and Patricia Artes; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Patrick Farrell, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Richard Marcus, Bobby Hannon, John “Kayo” Dottley, Don Price, Gene Allen and Jim Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Henry “Hank” Harris, Mac Montgomery, Dennis East, Kent Smith, Gene Rule, Dr. David Halinski, Dr. Thomas Sligh, Dr. William Wooten, Dr. Fred Husserl and Dr. Don Jackson.

Aline Parker Campbell

Aline Parker Campbell died Friday, May 28, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 83.

Mrs. Campbell was born in Newton County to Horace Victor and Christine Thomas Parker. She had lived in Vicksburg for most of her life. She was a Baptist.

Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Campbell, and two brothers, Harrell Parker and Thomas Victor Parker.

She is survived by, all of Vicksburg, a son, Roy E. Campbell Jr.; a granddaughter, Christine Campbell McCoy; a sister, Shirley P. Wilkinson; a niece, Bettye Carol McWilliams; and a nephew, Robert Victor Parker.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Rusty White, pastor of Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Larry McWilliams Jr., Victor Parker, Jim Corulla, Jimmy Fairchilds, Michael McCoy, Jesse Thomas, Danny Cappaert and John Dolan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Victor Parker, Carlton Rone and John Robert Williams.
