Abby Grace Gibson

VALLEY PARK Services for Abby Grace Gibson, infant daughter of Hubert L. and Katherine F. Gibson of Valley Park, will be at 2 p.m. today at Valley Park Baptist Church Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Abby died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Hubert Gibson.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandmother, Martha Dukes of Raleigh, and her maternal grandparents, Mickey and Mary Ferguson of Puckett.

Memorials may be made to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, 34th Street and Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104-4399.

Peyton P. Peeples

YAZOO CITY Peyton P. Peeples died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was 76.

Born in Leflore County to the late Peyton P. and Venice Moline Mullen Peeples, Mr. Peeples was a resident of Yazoo City. He was a Navy veteran, manager of the meat market at Sunflower Food Store and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Iree Watson Peeples; a daughter, Paula Diane Peeples; and a brother, James Peeples Sr.

Survivors include two daughters, Marsha Kay Williams of Yazoo City and Terri Anne Hancock of Bentonia; three sons, Mark Stephen Peeples of West Monroe, La., Timothy Michael Peeples of Yazoo City and Peyton Paul Peeples III of Durango, Colo.; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Carmens of Alvin, Texas, and Dean Peeples of Jackson; a brother, LeRoy Peeples of Vicksburg; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home with the Revs. Anthony Miller and Ralph Fuller officiating. Burial followed at Itta Bena Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Trent Williams, Mike Germain, Matt Williams, Mike Hancock, Dan Williams and Allen Potter.

Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Calvary Baptist Church.
