Dorothy Alley Boose

Services for Dorothy Alley Boose will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cool Springs M.B. Church with the Rev. Byron Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Boose died Friday, March 12, 2004, at her home. She was 83.

A resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Boose was a homemaker and a member of Cool Springs M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Boose; her parents, David Maxwell and Beulah Davis Maxwell; and three sisters, Thelma Warren, Maxine M. Bunch and Sarah Burns.

Survivors include a son, Charles Boose of Greenville; a stepson, Raymond Boose of Vicksburg; a niece whom she reared, Yasmine A. Page of Vicksburg; four brothers, Donald Maxwell and Dale Maxwell, both of Vicksburg, Richard Maxwell of Clarksdale and Milton A. Maxwell of Carbondale, Ill.; a sister, Dellora M. Bosley of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends, including Zelmarine Murphy, Patricia A. Segrest and Pearl Sullivan, all of Vicksburg.

Fannie Elnora Hall

PARSONS, Kan. Fannie Elnora Hall died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Ill. She was 83.

Formerly of Port Gibson, Mrs. Hall had attended Beechland Baptist Church. She was a member of Macedonia M.B. Church in Parsons and had worked for Smith’s Nursing Home and Temple Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Hall; a son, Anthony “Tony” Hall; and a sister, Robenia Beard.

Survivors include five daughters, Marie Harper of Peoria, Rebecca Holly and Susan Sangodeyi, both of Baltimore, Ruby Berry of San Ramon, Calif., and Tracey Rowland of Parsons; two sons, Thomas C. Hall and Robert Hall, both of Parsons; a sister, Rebecca Coleman of Parsons; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Macedonia M.B. Church with the Rev. Edward Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Carson-Well Funeral Home in Parsons.

Visitation will be from 7 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Macedonia M.B. Church.

Ples Williams Jr.

URBANA, Ill. Ples Williams Jr. died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill. He was 70.

A native of Vicksburg, Mr. Williams attended St. Mary’s School in 1952. He was a resident of Urbana.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Williams of Urbana; two sons, David Williams and William Garner, both of Champaign, Ill.; a brother, Percy Williams of Vicksburg; two great-granddaughters; cousins and other relatives, including Alice Garner Moseley of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a formal visitation from 5 until 7, at the funeral home.
