Abby Grace Gibson
VALLEY PARK Abby Grace Gibson, infant daughter of Hubert L. and Katherine F. Gibson of Valley Park, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Hubert Gibson.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandmother, Martha Dukes of Raleigh, and her maternal grandparents, Micky and Mary Furguson of Puckett.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Valley Park Baptist Church Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, 34th Street and Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104-4399.
Jessie Mae Haining
Jessie Mae Haining died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004. She was 96.
Mrs. Haining was born in Redwood to the late James and Hattie Harris Whatley. She was a former employee of the Warren County Chancery Clerk’s Office and had worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. She was a former Sunday school teacher at Crawford Street United Methodist Church, where she was a Ladies’ Mission Group leader for a number of years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, E.W. Haining; and a son, Edgar Haining.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Barfield of Vicksburg and Gloria Whittington of Nesbit; one son, Richard Haining of Atlanta; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Jan and Harold Whatley and Tillman Whatley.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel at Fisher Funeral Home, and burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jessie Reed
Services for Jessie “Man” Reed will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Gregory Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Reed died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, at his home. He was 56.
A resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Reed was a member of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Sr. and Carrie Rodgers Reed; a brother, John Reed; and two sisters, Emma Reed and Mary Reed.
Survivors include a son, Raymond Reed of Vicksburg; four daughters, Theresa Reed, Jennifer Palmer, Barbara Reed and Debra Reed, all of Vicksburg; two brothers, Larry Reed of Vicksburg and Harry Reed Jr. of Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Mildred McFelt of Vicksburg and Rosie Reed of San Francisco, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
