Patricia Meeks-Alford

CHICAGO Patricia Meeks-Alford died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. She was 56.

Born and reared in Vicksburg, Mrs. Meeks-Alford was a resident of Chicago.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Church of God and Christ in Chicago. Burial will follow at Oak Wood Cemetery under the direction of Burton Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the church.

James Russell Greer

TALLULAH James Russell Greer died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah. He was 40.

Born in Monroe, Mr. Greer had lived most of his life in Madison Parish. He was a security guard and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his mother, Verlene Greer Almond of Tallulah; a brother, Craig Greer of Tallulah; four stepsons, Jimmy Hutson, Aaron Scamp and Mikey Scamp, all of Tallulah, and Chris Hutson of Vicksburg; and a nephew, Michael Greer of Tallulah.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with Jody Farrell officiating. Burial followed at Harris Cemetery in Crowville, La.

Pallbearers were Dale Parker, Mickey Parker, Eric Miller, Rusty Bedgood, Billie Tate II and Charles Misita.

Johnny Lee Horton

EDWARDS Johnny Lee “Dilly” Horton died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at his home in Edwards. He was 46.

Mr. Horton attended Edwards Attendance Center and Hinds A.H.S. in Utica.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Mae Horton Kidd.

He is survived by a daughter, Anitra Richards of Champaign, Ill.; a son, Jeremy Horton of Champaign; his father, Elvis “Billy” Kidd Jr. of Vicksburg; three sisters, Brenda Wilson and Ashley M. Kidd, both of Edwards, and Cartenna M. Kidd of Bolton; five brothers, Marlon J. Kidd and Undare L. Kidd, both of Bolton, Tyrone Kidd of Jackson, Curtis O. Wilson of Edwards and Andrew J. Wilson Jr. of Taylorville, Ill.; two grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul M.B. Church in Edwards. Burial will follow at Bar Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home of Vicksburg.
