Delner Shorter

EDWARDS Delner “Louise” Shorter died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 63.

Born in Vicksburg, Mrs. Shorter was a resident of Edwards. She was retired from Harrah’s Casino.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Katie Miller.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Shorter of Edwards; a son, Jimmy Simmons of California; her father, Jesse Miller Sr. of Edwards; two stepdaughters, Teresa Shorter and Robin Shorter, both of California; three brothers, Jesse Miller Jr., Lee Miller and Mack Miller, all of Chicago; a granddaughter; and other relatives, including Mary Whitley and Margaret Chriss, both of Vicksburg.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

J.W. Williams

J.W. Williams died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 74.

Mr. Williams was a resident of Vicksburg.

He is survived by seven sons, L.J. Williams, James E. Williams and Larry Williams, all of Jackson, Carl Williams, Michael Williams and Anthony McCloud, all of Vicksburg, and L.J. Thompson of Crystal Springs; seven daughters, Gloria W. Branson, Barbara Williams, Alice Williams, Lisa Williams, Felicia Williams and LaTasha Williams, all of Vicksburg, and Glenda Atlas of Port Gibson; three brothers, McKinley Williams of Edwards, Robert Williams of Utica and Patrick Williams of Ohio; two sisters, Ida M. Williams and Mary B. Hooper of Chicago; 26 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews cousins and other relatives and friends.
