William W. Felker

William W. “Sonny” Felker died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at Central Mississippi Medical Center. He was 61.

Mr. Felker was born in Epps, La., to the late William Elmer and Ellie Ceil Hardy Felker. He was a former employee of Magnolia Mobile Homes and later operated Sonny’s Grocery.

He was a member of Magnolia Hunting Club and the Hyland-Jarmon Masonic Lodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sadie Miles, and a granddaughter, Christa Lee Heath.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie L. Felker of Vicksburg; a daughter, Christina Heath of West Monroe, La.; a son, William Allan Felker of Vicksburg; three sisters, Gloria Smith of Baton Rouge, Peggie Dunn of Columbus, Ga., and Carmalita Yeager of LaMarque, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Brumfield, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Epps City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Todd Flanagan, Billy Galey, Kenny Davenport, David Conerly, Percy Worley, Tommy Payne, Huett Tapp and Steve Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Fairchilds, Lamar Eaks, Alfred Rollison, Dr. Robert Magee and Dr. Hildon Sessums.

Ruby L. Gunie

Services for Ruby L. Gunie will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Revs. F.W. Wilson and Billy H. Bennett officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home.

Visitation will be today and Friday morning until the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gunie died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 81.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Gunie had worked as a waitress and was a member of the Glorious Church of Praise.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sammy and Sarah Moore; three sisters; and five brothers.

She is survived by a number of friends.

Essex McClendon

Services for Essex McClendon will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Second Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. McClendon died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 47.

A resident of Vicksburg, Mr. McClendon was a self-employed carpenter and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Essie McGee; three brothers, Willie Williams, John Williams and William McClendon; and two sisters, Fannie Griffin and Alice McKinley.

Survivors include his mother, Emma Magee of Vicksburg; six brothers, Theordore McClendon of California, Charles McClendon of Tupelo, Eddie McClendon and John McClendon, both of Vicksburg, Robert Neal of Delray Beach, Fla., and Frank McClendon of Utah; two sisters, Dorothy McClendon of Vicksburg and Diane Ford of Kosciusko; and other relatives and friends, including Willie Ford of Kosciusko.

Tommie H. Wilson

ROLLING FORK Tommie H. Wilson died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. She was 77.

A native of Tommolen, Miss., Mrs. Wilson had lived in Drew, Miss., for most of her life before moving to Rolling Fork 10 years ago. She was a member of Drew Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Ed Wilson.

Survivors include a son, Ronnie Wilson of Cary; two sisters, Deanie Koteen of Winter Park, Fla., and Jimmie Cole of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a grandson, David Ray Wilson of Columbus, Miss.; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Drew City Cemetery with the Rev. Millard Caulder officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
